Sounds like a plan. It should be fun to meet POF people offline for a change.
Count me in.

I would like to be part of a meet and greet. If no one has thought of place I know on Thurs. night downtown Raleigh at Hi5 or Bogarts they have nice specials as far as drinks and good music for those that like to dance. Hi5 has a nice place to play pool and watch games as well.

Raleigh/Durham Area get together
Posted: 7/3/2007 9:20:34 AM
Hi,

New to POF and was looking thru the different sections and found this information on a get together of Raleigh/Durham members of POF. Hope this might include us "elitetists" (LOL) that just happen to live in the Cary area. Actually some of us happen to be real down to earth people, with average lifestyles.

Seriously, I am interested in finding if we can just come without an official invitation and if so, wonder where and what time this might take place?

Is there a way to join this group's forum so that you receive information as I just happen to stumble on this string of emails by accident.

I would greatly appreciate any information that you could give me on this request.

Not sure how many will attend. Will meet at the bar and there should be a fish balloon and hopefully some people with name-tags.

You have to be kidding me. We showed up at 7 and no ballon. Maybe no one showed up, and it ended early. Regardless, everyone should give a cell number so that we don't have to go from table to table looking like Shrek trying to find the POF crowd. Needs better organization. We were looking forward to this.

Sorry...it started at 4. I'm not sure I feel comfortable giving out my cell #. We can always use the help!

Raleigh/Durham Area get together

Hi,

Sorry I am so late in posting my comments but my computer crashed while I was at Carolina Ale trying to find pepole from POF myself. I felt a little stupid at times because everyone I asked "Are you with Plenty of Fish?" looked at me and said things back like: "Yes, we caught plenty of fish" - "How many do you want?" - My buddy caught plenty yesterday!" - "Why do you need plenty of fish and how much is plenty?"

Anyway, I was there from about 4:20pm to 4:35pm and no one knew a thing about POF, although a lot of people know about it now from my explanations!

I have a couple of suggestions: #1 I have absolutely no problem giving anybody my cell number so if I know that we are having something and I am going you could post mine. #2 Tell the manager, head hostess and bartenders that people will be arriving from POF or Plenty of Fish and that the group will be located at a certain area of the meeting place and please direct them there when threy arrive.

I must have missed anyone that was there but I asked people at the bar, in the restaurant and on the outside patio areas and no one knew a thing!

If at any time someone is planning another and wants to contact me at my email address to possibly make use of my cell for a contact point, just write me (not here) at ocscouter@yahoo.com. Hope to hear there will be another again soon. Would anyone be interested in meeting sometime in Cary?

Hey, just my 2 cents worth. ocscouter

I realize it started at 4:00pm. But what I didn't realize is that it was going to be the shortest get-together in history...that's why we showed up at 7:00pm. We figured the party would just be getting started. If anyone wants to have a get together and let me be in charge, post it here. I'll make sure that there is a buffet among other things to keep the party going. Last dreamie0214, unless you live in Iraq, I really don't think communicating with people on the cell phone is going to put one in danger when trying to put together an event like this. Did you notice if anyone got your license plate number when you left the Carolina Ale House? Well guess what, your plate can be traced easier than your cell phone. Are you that popular? This seems like one of the safest sites to me. Whatever.
Why not a trip to Mrytle Beach? Everyone has friends, so bring a friend for protection. Beach and drinks during the day, and outdoor bands, ocean, and more drinks at night. Everyone stays on their own for accomodations, and possibly a breakfast in the morning at a local restaurant...now that's what I call a get-to-gether.
