get a fricking backbone and brush it off.....

but i know of some people who have and the reason they gave was that although they could have just told the girl they were not interested, i suppose could be the same reason girls give out false numbers. they don't want to seem rude in person and possibly have to deal with the reaction of someone being rejected...IT DOES HAPPEN! and it can ruin a night.

But you say you don't ask for the numbers. They just give them to you.
If you are a BBW, this is just cruelty. Some sick people get their jollies from being cruel. You wouldn't want to date them anyway. (My apologies on behalf of men for the pathetic behaviour.)
Now, back in my bar hopping days, some of the women in our group used to give guys numbers of police precincts. So I have seen this before. But this was always after they were asked. So cruel, but not "going totally out of their way to be cruel".
After we email a 3-4 times, I ask about going for coffee, and I usually offer to send the girl my phone number so she can put on caller ID blocking and phone me. It lets them feel more secure. Sometimes they do that, but more often they just send me their phone number. (I guess I look pretty harmless.)
Remember, it is a filtering process. Maybe 1% of the profiles belong to people you'd like to date more than once. We all have to go through a lot of filtering to find that one match. | |
