Most of this seems to have focused on collecting, not so much on hobbies. Where are our model railroaders with scale models of all the manitoba tracks in their basements, or the rock polishers ? lol

Some find it strange, but as some of you know I am a magician. I have met many people who find it weird that a "grown man" ( not that i describe myself that way of course) would play around with stuff like that. But it is a huge industry ( just think of Vegas lol). ANyway, I actually get paid to do magic shows, both for kids and adults. Some have seen me doing little things at gatherings. I guess the weird part comes in where i seem to never be without a deck of cards or some coins in my pocket. Even my kids tease me about how i never go anywhere with out cards lol

WHen i was with my ex, "we" collected Hallmark decorations, as she told everyone. Funny , for it being "our" collection, i didnt get any in the divorce lol. Not that i wanted them.

Right here, kinda. lol I collect small miniatures and paint them. part of a game called Warhammer, but Im not so much into the game anymore, rather collecting , painting, and displaying the models.

I also collect replica firearms, (soon real steel firearms once my PAL gets here!).

I've got a lot of hobbies, but none that would be considered "strange."

I'm a rock collector. Everywhere I go, I have to take rocks home. My friends go travelling and they ask me if I want any souveniers. Sure!! I'll take some really cool rocks.

I'd eventually like to get a rock polisher thingy, so that I can turn some of these rocks into jewellery.

LoL SmilingOne, my son is the same way. That is all he wanted for Christmas one year...rocks. I will never forget that Christmas because Santa didn't pull through and bring him the only thing he wanted (how was I to know to go to home depot and buy a bag of rocks just to make his day)!

With the exception of the Winnipeg police museum, I have the largets handcuff collection in the city.

And no - not for THAT purpose.

Rocks here too, have little piles in my windows, the big ones out side on the deck and around the yard. And dead plants, mostly from the garden, but other places too. I wonder if it weirds out the live ones to see dead ones hanging from the wall?

Belly button lint. Opps delete that one.

When traveling I like to bring back a small rock from each place I visit. Eventually I'll probably use them to build a grotto for a statue of St. Francis or Mary.

I am researching Depression Era gangsters who operated along the international border. I don't know if it's a strange hobby, but it is interesting.

I have sand from a few places. I ask people not to empty their shoes till they get home, and then give it to me. Ok its not a foot thing, its a sand thing, ok its a foot and sand thing.

I have sand from various countries I've visited. No feet are involved unless they power the flippers down a few fathoms. I also collect coins, photographs and music. I have to admit to being rather passionate about the few collections that I have.

I'm also collecting dirty dishes. (Sigh.....)

Here's one! Restaurant equipment. Anyone remember the old Oxford hotel downtown? Remember their beer fridge? It was from back from when St. James was an independant city (made by the "St. James refridgeration Co." Yes, that's how it's spelled). It now resides 500 km north, across from my cooktop and assortment of "Bonanzaa" serving plates, pizza dishes, and dull knives. "Able Wholesale".....oh, how I miss you!

Let's see... I collect kids' movies, toys (little dinosaurs, hot wheels, stuff like that), gray hairs...

Oh wait, that's the stuff my kids are accumulating in the house. except the gray hairs... Those are directly caused by them though and it seems when I get a gray hair, it falls out. Maybe they get pulled out... who really knows?

I like to collect money, but that seems to be difficult to do. Everytime I get a sizable collection of it, it seems to be spent on something I've been saving for. Go figure.

As for myself? I collect dragon paraphenilia and Halloween masks. I used to collect these things called "Magic" cards but I haven't played that game for a very long time. I'm going to start collecting Karaoke CD's instead.

For Halloween, it's my goal to have enough masks to decorate an entire wall.
