| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 3/12/2007 4:35:04 PM | You guys are right, + attitude is what makes life worthwhile, at any age! And "Life long learning"=learning and enjoying life!
Every "phase" of my life has been the BEST (at the time) being over 18, and "free" of parents and other restrictions was great. Being a mommie was great (til they got to be teenagers but that didn't last long) Being Single again and back in college GREAT, then remarrying and having the kids gone! Wonderful! Now, back to being RETIRED--SUPER WONDERFUL--being a widow sucks--but being healthy, and "wealthy" enough to afford the basics without having to go to a job which takes up time I would rather spend playing is wonderful and liberating.
So many options now I am having trouble deciidng where to start having fun! Taking a pottery class at the art center, making travel plans and watching spring arrive! Wonderful to the max--

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/28/2007 6:01:14 AM | I adore getting older! The early years of my life were just a path leading to where I am now, home. At 47 I am totally at home with myself, am aware of everything and everyone around me, have enough knowledge to aid a more comfortable turn of the pages to the rest of my life, the stress has gone, the confidence has built it's way into my persona and I have never felt more of a woman than I am today. Life is wonderful and can only get better! | |

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/29/2007 7:06:48 PM | | I just turned 60 and I can honestly say I have always focused my energies on enjoying those life experiences which lie ahead. Past experiences should have brought us to a point where we view our present not as good, bad, better, or worse, but as just different. It is up to each of us to use the wisdom gained through age and experiences to fully embrace the present and appreciate the act of "doing life". | |

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/30/2007 4:27:33 AM | Oh yeah, it is a blast getting older... I enjoy the aches and pains when I get up... I am wondering what I did all those years when I had none!
Getting older does have its advantages.. There is the senior discount, and the thrill when someone asks for identification before they give it to you!
My dear mother used to say when she was 84, turn it around and she's 48, LOL... well how do I do that now.. I'm 66, and it doesn't matter, and next year I certainly don't want to be 76... Guess I will have to wait until I'm in my early 70s. Such is life!

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/30/2007 6:23:49 AM | A a young lad, I went through puberty early. Had a full beard and hairy chest at 14. I always looked older. It was great for getting girlfrieds. They laked that i looked"manly" .Got into bars, way too early. Got to hang out with older people. Sometimes people actually listened to me because they thought I was older. So it's great that I always looked older. JUST AN OPINION.
But now that I am older "never OLD..continually older", ...well you guess it! I still look older!. And I bet you thought I was gonna say, now I look younger....LMAO , but I am happy in my own skin.
JUST AN OPINION
JUSR AN OPINION | |

We live in a big world with so many places and people to enjoy and see as well as taking time to smell the flowers along the way. Age is only a number and attitude is important. Wisdom and experience are benefits. .....Me-l-e

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/30/2007 9:31:00 AM | Well, really, the only option to growing older is to die now, and I'll go on growing older, thanksverymuch. I'm turning 50 this year and I think that's just pretty darn kick-ass! I felt as if I were just hitting my prime when I turned 40 and with the 50th b'day months away, I'm still feeling pretty fine.
I'm old enough to know what I want, and what I don't want, and to not care what other people think I should think or be or do. I like me. I'm grateful for my health, since everyone who comes to me for therapy reminds me that I'm lucky to be in the shape I'm in, extra pounds and all. Life is fun, and there is much to be entertained by, if you're only willing to be entertained. I have one client who complains about every single thing in his life all the time without a break--no wonder he's single. Life is too short to focus on the negatives.
Okay, I've gotten sidetracked again. "Old" is a state of mind, and I hope never to get there.

With age comes more wisdom , you want to do the things now that you always wanted to do and go for it, we have learned not to sweat the small stuff and now know what we want in life. And the best part is we are closer to retirement to be able to fit all this fun stuff in!! LOL

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 7/31/2007 6:30:43 PM | I will be 60 in January. I cannot say I like my sagging boobs or the way my underarms flop about when I move my arm. I have some arthritus in my hands and knees and I have wattels under my chin. I color my hair so it does not show the gray. This is the down side of aging. The up side of aging is I love myself and all that I have learned over the years. I still dance several times a month and speed walk four days a week. I care less about what people think of me. I am kinder and far less judgmental of others and myself. I do what I love and see whom I love. Hopefully I have learned enough life lessons and have some wisdom. I worry far less. So give me age over youth every time. | |

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 8/5/2007 3:23:57 PM | | tom: nothing wrong with getting older..........you might as well make the best of it and enjoy......because the bottom line is............there aint squat you can do about it.....I don't mind my age at all........as a matter of fact.......I like myself more now than I ever have. | |

| Getting older & enjoying it Posted: 8/6/2007 12:18:46 AM | There are many advantages to this 'age'.
My children are all grown and live out on their own.
I have the luxury now of enjoying grandchildren. I am still young enough to have fun, explore, have adventures and play.
Yes, it is different.
I have wisdom gained from experiences and I know what I like.
I look forward to the years ahead, new friends, experiences, and the change in one's point of view that comes with maturity.
