| Canucks Posted: 4/9/2007 9:32:09 PM | The Canucks are gonna win the Cup this year! Reason? The NHL announced that Kerry Fraser will not be reffing any post season games! There go the Rangers' chances! | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/9/2007 10:05:17 PM | | That was before Dallas became a contender. Might be a reason a few teams might win a few. The ref's all suck.So do colin campbell and gary bettman GO CANUCKS GO. Don't know about any of these first-round matc-ups out west.Even worst back east. Thank GOD for the Luongo's,Kippersoffs,Jegehyr's and Broduers. Canucks are in that mix of Teams that might go places because of goaltending. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 12:57:16 AM | That was an amazing game tonight. The Sedin line was just endless.. and everyone said they were going to get knocked around and pushed all over the place. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago, but you can't do that anymore, they're just too big now.
In addition.. hopefully Cookes hamstring isn't too bad.. they're tough to asses until the day or so after the fact, and lets hope Kesslers finger isn't fractured.. or wose.. that was a pretty ugly shot of his hand when he was on the bench.
All in all, good effort, should be an exciting series.
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 4:32:40 AM | The game tonight was amazing...to bad the stars out played them....shots where definatly in favor of the stars tonight but good thing the nucks were able to stay on there feet and take this one out on top. If it wasn't for the sedin line....not sure how this game would have ended...and wow...first playoff game ended in the 4th overtime that is crazy cannot wait until Fridays game!!
GO Canucks GO!! | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 7:33:06 AM | | I hate to say it, but the Stars are taking this series. Canucks won't be able to get lucky every night (winning after facing 50-70+ shots). Not even the legend Kelly Hrudey will be able to save them hehe. Dallas in 6 or 7. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 12:15:35 PM | | On the other hand, teams of destiny seem to win the ones they should have lost. Dallas should have won, but it's 1-0 in favour of the Canucks. And you can bet it's a lot better being that tired after a win than after a loss. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 1:16:48 PM | | HOLY SHIT. Canucks are last years Spoilers. WAY TO GO GUYS. Turco is a goof. Modano 45 shots didn't mean diddly. I think a lot of pundits might wake-up and smell the coffee now. No way we should opf won but...we did.GO CANUCKS GO. Teams that play that way do win Cup,just ask Tampa and Carolina. I predict a Canuck-Ottawa Final. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 4:06:32 PM | | I hope the fans that attend the games learn to shut the hell up. As soon as it was 4-2 and they started chanting, "You suck Turco," I knew right away the Stars were going to tie it. That lack of class and disrespect propels opposing teams to dish up a nice serving of foot for those fans to insert into their mouths. The Canucks were just lucky that Luongo was able to turn away the rest of the shots after that. Honestly... the team made me proud that they rallied and overcame the lapse that sent the game to overtime, but that retarded chanting almost made me embarrassed to be a Canuck fan. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 4:24:21 PM | The Canucks can't be spoilers, due to expectations that have been set, they're contenders. The 72 saves for Luongo, while not an overly spectacular performance, was still pretty solid in net. Come game two, when he finally settles down and starts standing on his head, watch out.
Hopefully Cooke and Burrows are ready for Friday. If not we'll be seeing Santala in for sure, and I wonder if they'll call up Reid? He and Naslund played really well in the few games they had midseason, unfortunately they didn't produce anything. All's different now though.
"Embarrassed to be a Canucks fan".. that embarrassed you.. are you serious? I think it's about time you thicken up your skin, mate. Would you rather we lay out a red carpet for them then?
I thought the chanting was great. A good show of enthusiasm by the crowd, shows they're really in to it. And if you want to talk about a "lack of class" due to what they were saying, you'll have to go around all of North America and call each and every teams fans "unclassy" and "retarded", because similar chants are echoed through each, and every building at some point in time.
Such as the NY Rangers early this season when they blew a big lead (forget the actual game) and the crowd decided start chanting, "WE SUCK, WE SUCK". FYI: the Rangers were playing at home that night.

| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 5:27:03 PM | And if you want to talk about a "lack of class" due to what they were saying, you'll have to go around all of North America and call each and every teams fans "unclassy" and "retarded", because similar chants are echoed through each, and every building at some point in time. I don't have to go there to say it... I will say it. You can show enthusiasm without being an ass. You don't have to disrespect your opponents to show support for your team. Chanting Turco's name was enough, they didn't have to add the "you suck" to the front of it. Maybe I just haven't watched enough games, but I don't recall that happening anywhere else. If it does/has, then that is classless as well.
But hey... I could be wrong. Maybe it's a great show of enthusiasm. Perhaps someone from Vancouver could send me newspaper clippings where Naslund, Linden, or Luongo commented in post game interviews commending the fans for their "You suck Turco" chants that really inspired the team. In the five minutes that the fans were chanting it, I seem to recall 2 Dallas goals. It was almost 90 minutes after they stopped before the Canucks finally scored again.
| Canucks Posted: 4/12/2007 7:24:27 PM | "Maybe I just haven't watched enough games, ..."
BINGO, Sherlock!! Got it on the first try!!
(And yes, you really DO need to get out to more games. That would be the 'reality check' part of the treatment. This isn't the opera; it's a hockey crowd. Gentility is NOT part of the program!!)
As for the Canucks, they really were a bit lucky to win, because the Stars were outplaying them throughout the latter part of the game. Of course, when you've got Luongo in goal, you can be forgiven a multitude of defensive sins. Still, hopefully this game was a good wakeup call for the guys.
| Canucks Posted: 4/13/2007 12:37:42 AM | Took the words right out of my mouth grog.
Canucks were very lucky too win that game. I don't think it was long before Sedin scored that the Stars hit the crossbar. However, on the other hand, should Vancouver have lost, we'd probably all be saying "they were unlucky". Also playing with 10.5 forwards after losing Cooke, Burrows, and having Kessler with a broken finger (Cooke and Burrows are day to day, Kessler is out 4-5 weeks) can wear a team down going in to the 7th period.
| Canucks Posted: 4/13/2007 8:41:47 AM | I don't think I've ever been to a Calgary/Edmonton game at the Saddledome where the "Oilers Suck" chant isn't heard. It's generally the loudest chant of the game.
And if you're offended by something like "You suck Turco" I recommend that you never attend a game in Philadelphia. "You suck Turco" is too lame to get the crowd going there.
| Canucks Posted: 4/13/2007 12:30:52 PM | | Luck be the factor that might allow them to suprise a lot of people. Part of being a contender in the new NHL. Too bad about Kessler. Maybe Linden will pick-up some of the slack. Some Cities don't deserve Teams because of ther fans or at least shouldn't allow drinking at the games. Real Hockey fans get tired of band-wagon hopping, drunken shit for brains. Never mind the Hockey bimbo's either. CANUCKS ROCK. | |

Hmmm...remind me again of the Canucks attendance figures just 6 years ago? Averaged 11,000 per game, before Burke fixed things. Averaged 11,000 per game, just two years removed from a Stanley Cup finals appearance. Oh and as for the second part of the comment, remind me again of the Vancouver riots after the Game 7 loss in 1994?
Seems to me that the reasons you just gave for San Jose not deserving a Stanley Cup fit the Vancouver Canucks to a tee.
| Canucks Posted: 4/13/2007 1:56:55 PM | | man gonna be a big game tonight, to bad i cant watch this game either stupid afternoon shift oh well always high lights t watch, i think this is gonna a be a big factor, dallas is a under estamated team and were pleagde by scratchs in there line up all year and finally there healthy, this is gonna be a real tster for the nucks hopefully they will win it in 5 or 6 games, so i can go watch them play in round 2 and 3 | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/13/2007 10:44:40 PM | well i didn't get to see the game since i was refing i hurd it definatly wasn't the greatest. I saw the fist half of the first period and Hansen kid looked pretty good. Definatly noticed him out there.
ah well you cannot win them all unfortunitly
Go Canucks Go! | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/14/2007 8:11:07 AM | | I surely hope the sisters wake up soon. They don't have the confidence they had in the regular season for some reason...Good thing the weather back home is half decent because if the nucks keep on playing like they did in the first two games they'll be golfing next week!! | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/14/2007 8:31:31 AM | | the nucks effort was pretty craptackular!!!!! the hanson kid had alot of jump out there. they definately missed cooke out there too. | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/14/2007 10:47:46 PM | Flames fan here, I just have a few things to say

| Canucks Posted: 4/14/2007 10:53:02 PM | "Flames fan here, I just have a few things to say GO STARS GO, GO STARS GO, GO STARS GO, GO STARS GO, GO STARS GO"
Nice to see that as a Flames fan you're already picking another team to cheer for, knowing that yours will be gone by Thursday.
| Canucks Posted: 4/14/2007 11:21:11 PM | Nah, Our best players have the flu (Iginla Langkow, Tanguay etc) which is why they didn't play to their best.
They're better now, and our Injuries are better. Detroit will have to watch out.
(Ps, Stars will win in 6)
| Canucks Posted: 4/15/2007 3:23:30 AM | | The stars ought to win in five but I bet the open ended straight once every ten years or so and maybe this year it hits. Canucks in five...or maybe six | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/15/2007 8:30:24 PM | They should outlaw hockey in Sweden because the mthrfyckers have absolutely no grit. The Scandinavians with the exception of Naslund and even he could give er a little more, are getting intimidated and they're not retaliating. I feel like I should put a footnote on earlier predictions. This series may be over if the weak sisters don't change their attitudes on the subject of wanting to win...mind you maybe Linden will come through
YAN BULIS FOR PREMIER | |
| Canucks Posted: 4/15/2007 9:48:36 PM | Yaaaaaaaaaaaa........canucks win in overtime....taylor pyatt scores the winner 7 minutes into the first overtime....
