As night falls down around me
a new year beginning ahead creeps
I think of those around me
past images into my mind quickly leaps
so much for me has changed
seems I've greatly altered my flow
so much knowledge in this past year I've obtained
it appears there was much I needed to know
such as a dear friend can be found
from a thousand miles away
that a frown can be lifted
by a pure heart that comes your way
that blood is not always thicker than water
a stranger can become closer to you
also so much can be granted
if you only change your view
my eyes have greatly opened
I've let bitterness fall to the wayside
learned to take great chances
found true love that gives me pride
for so long from life I hid
this past year changed this for me
a gentle heart prodded mine to open
caused this girl again to believe
we don't always know
which way our cards will deal
yet we have to play life's game
if we wish to make things real
I now look forward to life
on my horizon I feel that I could be happy at last
I reflect on all I know now
gently close that book called "my past"
my heart now yearns deeply
to have years ahead filled with bliss
I look to heavens above
"please grant me in life something I did miss"
provide me with cleansing
make my soul thrive in it's entirety

We long for that magical flutter
one that sets our heart to jump
where just one look at them
causes within our throat a lump
that our eyes will never

a connection so unbelievable

we believe it cannot be found again
where this other person can be all to us
most importantly our best friend
through life we search
hoping not in vane
for to let our hearts out for love
we know can bring to us pain

At times I feel my chest tighten
as I think about steps I must take
for this life that I so want
that fills me from the moment I do wake
at times I do tremble
for scary it can truly be
yet these steps I must walk
for change to come to me
without even realizing
my feet continue to walk ahead
guiding me are words of wisdom
flowing around within my head
as if my guardian angel is saying
we will hold you up when you feel low
continue to take these steps
we'll lead you where you need to go.

I watch each day
this bond that is taking hold
warming my heart tremendously
keeping me from feeling cold
my dear children
are reaching out to you
on their own
they bring you into view
asking for your help
know that you are their friend
I pray this bond keeps growing
that of it there shall be no end
that in this life
you shall guide them the right way
that you will take their hands
with them so lovingly play
their need is quite evident
of this as a mom I can see
it does my heart such good

Upon moist grass from early eve
tender footsteps wandered into night
a mind so envisioning
hours of pleasurable delight

Eve of a new year is now present
hours passing till a clock shall strike midnight
universally we shall all share in this moment
into heavenly skies we will spread hope with all of our might

yet each desire will have
it's own unique name
some may wish for love
others for health of a loved one
some may ask simply
for money worries to be done
whatever we shall ask for
as this hour is found
