The restaurant itself has been in business at that location since 1972 and it looks like they haven't redecorated since the grand opening. Not a problem, as the place was nice and felt cozy...just the decor was a bit dated. Can't remember the last place I was in that had multi-colored stain glass decorations with that diamond shaped wood trimming.
First thing to note is that the wings are baked instead of deep fried. WTF is with that? If I'm going to attempt slow suicide by eating so many wings, don't be making them healthier. The healthy preparation aside, the sauces were all quite tasty. MsDoLittle shared 30 with me to get the best pricing and we tried BBQ, Orange Ginger and Pineapple Curry. I personally prefer the crispyness deep frying provides so the flavour was good, but my personal preference would have been for good old artery clotting deep frying as the cooking method. The wings themself were the larger variety, close to the size of the wings at Tony Roma's, but still smaller than the wings at Hooters. Given that they were priced similarly to Hooters, I would give the upper hand to Hooters at that price point.
We had about 17 or 18 people come out so it was a decent turnout and we had a lot of fun discussions. The tables were set out in a diamond pattern (must be so they match the decorations) and I found myself sitting in the middle, so it made for easy socializing. All I had to do was turn my chair to face whatever interesting snippet of conversation caught my ear.
While the wings and drinks were pricier than at Tony Roma's, they did have free popcorn to equal out the value equation.
Nice place, but if I were to go back, I think I would try the pizza as I hear that they are quite famous for it. While their wings are good, I have found wings that I like better at a cheaper price elsewhere.

Posted: 1/11/2007 9:17:25 PM | I went, and it took me an entire 20 minutes, door to door, for traveling time. I had a fabulous time at my second "swim with the fishes" night and thanks Dano for my first hug. 
I feel like I belong now. I even got to stroke HaywireSue's unplucked beaver!! I loved the new location, I don't eat wing's and I thought the appetizers I had were fantastic!!

My ears have been burning and i've also heard that you miss me sooooo much! JK
Anyway, yes i've been out of commission for a while during the holidays...things got crazy before and after and many things and situations have been occupying my time.
My schedule has changed with commitments not on different evenings of the week....so most currently scheduled wing nights are out for me! sob sob....that's why i've missed out.
BUT I am glad to say....that the war is back on....the Transconlavians will give it another shot! lol...hehe.
Watch for a post...I will be trying to schedule something soon actually for this Wednesday I hope!!!

will probably bring the daughter tho...hate leaving her home all the time..I do that enough with work...
Although there are alot of wing nites around town...I think I will stick with what I know for now..especially with the nite driving stuff..so having them in the Nairn/Regent area is great for me..might even attempt to get my "phone a friend" to come out too....
