Just love collecting.....

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/22/2009 6:18:03 PM | | Depends on the cd. Mostly I will have music on my ipod that I have burnt onto disc or loaded to my ipod. If its a box set, better to buy. I like the boollets that come with most cd's. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/23/2009 7:43:41 AM | Apparently not enough of them. The Borders music and books store near me is dumping their whole stock of CDs and DVDs. half price. I bought 2 each of jazz/classical/pop for $40. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/23/2009 10:07:10 AM | In this day and age most do it digitally. if its not i tunes or some other pay per song/album site a lot of people just steal it. ever since stuff like Napster and Limewire have been killing the industry we seem to just be noticing it now.
3 record shops died around here as well.
its a shame. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/23/2009 10:11:17 AM | I usually only buy cd's if it's of one of my all-time favorite bands. Example...when Metallica's Death Magnetic came out, I bought it! Anything else unless I usually download. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/23/2009 11:55:29 AM | | I own 383 compact disks. They are all in near mint condition, alphabetized with the lyrics booklet and disk intact and in perfect shape. Not a single one of my cds skips or has anything defective about it. I keep a running total. I have got a small stack of dvds too. Mostly band Dvds and horror/war films. Oh yeah I have an autographed copy of Lamb of Gods Ashes of the wake. It is autographed by the guitarist. Yes I take pride in not downloading stuff. The world is too short for viruses, corrupted files plus I need the disk in physical form to give me piece of mind. -Dre | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/25/2009 7:39:00 AM | I know friends who download entire artist catalogs online. I think it kind of destroys the whole discovery and appreciation of this artists individual song's and albums.
For example. I bought Simon & Garfunkel's Greatest hits 3 or so years ago. I loved it, and wore that cd to death. Then I bought one of their albums, then another, then another, then went into Paul Simon's solo albums, until WOW! I have 20 freaking Paul Simon/S&G records! Ha! But I love each one to death.
But yes, I do download the really hard to find stuff. One album I downloaded goes for over a hundred bucks a pop on ebay. I can't see myself spending that much at the moment!

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/25/2009 10:19:56 PM | | If I really like a Band I will buy their CD. Although I do not support Major Label Artists' I buy Independent that way the money goes to the artist. well more of it anyways ;) | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/26/2009 5:50:24 AM | I still buy a lot of cds. Have to order a lot of them online - I tend to buy music that is not readily available in music stores - if there were still some around. I give CD's as gifts whenever possible and always buy cd's at concerts to support the artists. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/27/2009 5:03:52 AM | I still buy the odd CD from the used hand me down CD stores, I don’t really like paying full price for CD but if I really like the band, I'll support them and buy their CD.
I miss Cassette tapes; those could take a good bit of abuse and still work. I find CD are too sensitive and don’t play well after a few dings and scratches

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/27/2009 6:38:21 AM | Yep,
Im still a CD/Vinyl/Laserdisc (yes laserdisc) Buyer :P
Even if they offer the album in OGG format there is some compression the actual PCM/Wave file goes through plus there is such a thing as hard drive failures
my .02 cents. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/27/2009 9:24:59 AM | I am sad I missed the original glory days of the LP honestly and now I don't have the money to buy a player. I mean the cover art! People, you don't get real cover art with a download!
The only time I've ever used iTunes is because someone gave me a gift card for the site. Some of the music on my computer has come from my dad but most of it I have the CD's for. I have to have an actual product. I need my liner notes and with CD's my mini cover art.
That and I'd be an awful, AWFUL production student if I downloaded music haha.

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 3/27/2009 2:55:59 PM | Honestly, in the last five years I think I've bought maybe three or four CD's. Granted in the next few months I'm waitin for one artist to release his second CD which I will without a DOUBT be buyin a couple of...lol... (GO Chris Young!!!)
Like someone said I do miss the cover art from the old vinyls. Some of those were pretty wild and artistic....

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 4/27/2009 1:05:35 AM | | I've 406 albums now. My next goal is 500. Before I die I hope to have around 2000 compact disks. Even though it is impossible, I would like to hear every single song ever recorded throughout history. -Dre | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 4/27/2009 1:25:28 AM | I'm a big CD buyer, I still buy CD's. Have a music collection with almost 200+ CD's.
Most of my CD's are bought used from a store called Young Ones in Kutztown, PA and I also buy used online from Amazon.com.
I was in New Jersey with family on Saturday and we went to some yard sales, I got an alannah miles CD for about $2 and a Paula Abdul CD for $1.

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 4/27/2009 4:28:51 PM | | I still buy CDs and still listen to LPs and cassettes, too. Technology may have evolved, but that doesn't mean people have to evolve with it! | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/13/2009 9:10:14 AM | | Yup old school old fart and I love cds I have many I find them in the trash while recycling and in the thrift stores I like having the whole soundtrak.. | |
|
| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/13/2009 5:01:50 PM | | I still buy 'em. But new bands are rarely able to fill a whole CD with anything I like, so i-singles are for me. | |
|
| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/24/2009 3:10:55 PM | | I still buy CDs. I'm not sure if CDs are a "dying" breed yet, like cassettes were. Although more folks are downloading music online, I suppose its just a matter of time before CD sales decline too. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/25/2009 10:38:57 AM | Oh, Yeah, I've got a huge collection and keep adding to it. I keep them in several leather to go holders, and one goes with me, anytime I drive. I'm always buying CD's. | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/26/2009 3:06:07 PM | | What about vinyl? Anyone here rummage through a stingy old shop every weekend looking for a hidden treasure? Or ya know.... browsing ebay for hours to find rare original pressings of things.... or spending half your pay cheque on a dying media format?.... anyone .... | |

| are there still cd buyers out there Posted: 5/26/2009 7:45:34 PM | | So orginally I just downloaded everything and just recently I started buying Cd's again and also getting my friends to buy em again. Since with CD's you get other extra little things that you don't get with downloading. Plus u get an awsome CDcase and pictures of the artist | |
