in a questionable area for one and as far as I'm concerned, they had an opportunity to make an impression and they bombed.

not sure if everyone knows this but when we first started there they only had a few selections of beer..we asked if they were willing to stock up on coolers which they never carried or certain types of beers and the management went and got what we wanted to drink at the local liquor store and still kept the price down
as for all the comotion before it was only on saturdays people had problems with
example ... cover charge..can't wear a ball cap or running shoes..slow service..different prices..so on..
all these were on a saturdays and with over 50 people there and 3 on staff good help is hard to find mostly when the bar is in the industrial area

would you work for a bar in that area when you know that there is not much bussiness other than us on wednesday's i think we should give the girls a chance and go back
and as for the management we do not really deal with him anymore it is up to mel and she reports to him and she has us in her best interests at heart

i am willing to give it a try at Kabana's again

and it is 10X more cleaner then juiletts by far even in the bathrooms
and has julietts ever try once to get the crowd back when we left?......NO
are they willing to give us specials on drinks and food .......NO
did kabana's do and try this ........YES

so i will give them a chance maybe cause i went there every week and seen all of this and not just hear from others
i had good service everytime cause i went to the bar and got it myself
and asked for a tab so it was faster for service

and this is JMO

I'd be willing to go back agian I really didn't mind the place the service was only really bad at the party and I never really noticed the other stuff, I like the space and the karaoke host.

I just wanted to speak up.

First of all Calgman said it really well...I would also add we havent ever been to an establishment where the service, price of food, or location was good for everyone. Someone is always going to have a complaint...lets just accept the service isnt going to be always perfect. Get your drinks at the bar if the waitress moves too slow for you. If the location isnt good...try car pooling. I havent been to any karaoke places that the nieghborhood was perfect...but I never felt in danger...so lets not be snobs on this one. Food or drinks are too expensive...well water is free and you can eat at home...we know we arent getting a bargain eatting out in a restaurant anyways. In other words lets just be grown ups on this one...if you want to go out with the group its not going to be perfect. The host of the party worked really hard and in the real world its polite to thank him/her and not complain constantly ...right?

Thank you so much mike and shawn for trying to resolve this for us.

as far as kabana's...
well i think we may have fallen in love a little quickly with the place. I liked it for wedesday nights...but suddenly turning it into a saturday night/special occasion place didnt work...they arent equiped to handle us. I dont think we should try them again for our bigger events....but i would go on wednesday nights. I know some became disenchanted with them quickly but to be fair we hadnt been going that long....so its not like juliets. After our first night there kabana's learned to have enough food and staff for our wednesdays. The host was fantastic too. I liked that we pretty much had the place to ourselves...its newly renovated so it doesnt smell like an ashtray...and I thought the food was really good. If they can fix some of the other issues with pricing etc i would be all in.

I am more into hanging out with the group and my friends than where it is...frankly i could care less and usually find our location's flaws amusing.

I would also go back to juliets though if they addressed our complaints.

just my two cents.

not a regular karaoke person but for purely selfish reasons i would go back to Kabanas. for an out of town guy it is easy for me to get to (6 or 7 stoplights, light traffic.) as for it being in a questionable neighborhood, just get someone to walk you out to your vehicle. it is a service i have and would provide again as would most others.

Shawn and Calgman Thanks for trying to reslove some of the issues here.

I would go there again for Wednesday's Karaoke... I liked the idea of it being totally ours for that evening as well.... If I ever get drunk enough to get up and sing I sure as h ell don't want just anyone to see and hear me!!

And so long as Shawn n Tarnished are there I will never be worried about leaving the place... but then again, I have been known to hold my own a time or two - ( long time ago, don't ask )

While it sounds like Kabana's is making efforts, I have to add this:

To say that Kabanas has attempted to regain PoF business and Juliette's has not is misleading. One PoF has promoted Kabana's from the beginning and continues to do so. This is an individual making the attempt and getting results. To my knowledge, noone has done the same with Juliette's. Comparing apples and oranges.

I would give most people a second chance so why not a place. I really liked the host. She was lots of fun. Besides, I never had any trouble there on a Wed. night. I say we just stay away from having special events there and stick to Wed.
