Posted: 8/8/2007 6:49:59 AM | Okay, I'm going to sound like a big geek here, but that is okay with me. 
"Japanese Story"...this is an unusual movie, but very sad and haunting.
"Grave of the Fireflies"...it's anime (watch it with subtitles) and possibly one of the saddest movies I have ever seen. If you think anime is just Pokemon and robots, you are missing out on alot of wonderful films.
Not sure if "Remains of the Day" and "Anna and the King" are considered 'tear jerkers' but they are wonderful love stories never-the-less.
Oh, and to whomever posted "The Piano"...that is one of my all time favorite films.

I'm going to have to go with Radio Flyer---excellent performance by a young Elijah Wood as the older brother of an abused child. I still bawl like a baby whenever I watch it---and I don't cry during movies. | |

Posted: 9/19/2007 10:27:30 AM | If you like The Lakehouse, make sure you check out the original Korean movie, Il Mare. The feel is a little different and the soundtrack is much better...
As for myself, I love movies. They're probably one of my favorite things in life and a majority of my favorite movies tend to be ones that evoke tears. Why? Because it takes a hell of a good movie to suspend disbelief and evoke sadness in an otherwise happy person. :)
