| What are your favorite flowers to be given by a beau?

What kind of website would you guys suggest to research the meanings of flowers?
I know this sounds a bit strange to be so scientific about it, but I'd like to become fluent in this floral language, if only for my own benefit...

Posted: 1/12/2007 3:08:09 PM | I seem to like yellow flowers.. they are just so bright and cheerful.. like gerber daisies, sunflowers, or yellow roses.. and i like single flowers over a bouquet, just one or two is nice and simple.
Orchids are very pretty.. and although lillies are very nice.. they remind me of a funeral parlour, and they also are overpowering in smell....
Calla (i think that's how you spell it) lillies are pretty, and very simple
I have to agree with one of the above threads, it's the gesture not so much the flower.

simple wild flower/s picked on the way home by a partner, doesnt matter what, could be daisies for all i care, it means more than a lavish bouquet made by a stranger and delivered by someone in a van that i dont know. but to open the door to a man holding a flower especially picked FOR me by his own hands.......i'd melt! | |

I wouldn't want someone giving them to me thinking of the idea I would want them just because a lot of women like receiving them. I'm actually partial in receiving perhaps stuffed animals. Especially, stuffed kittens. I've always wanted a real one I guess If it were flowers I like yellow roses or carnations. However, give me a stuffed kitten anyday | |

Posted: 1/12/2007 4:39:30 PM | | Since I'm a gardener, I prefer live things I can plant; however, not everyone's going to know that. I like the mixes, with carnations, roses, dasies and sometimes even gladiolus etc...they're more interesting. Roses are nice, but tend to wilt within a couple days.....and I hate thinking of the man who parted with so much cash only to have his bouquet wilt almost immediately. | |

Posted: 1/12/2007 6:19:58 PM | I like flowers, but it's not the main thing that I look for, if a guy is going to surprise me, bc for so many years, it seems that chivalry is dead. However, I would be absolutely STOKED if I did get flowers...so what type would attract me ?

Posted: 1/12/2007 6:45:01 PM | | my favorite flower that was ever given to me was not from my beau but from my four year old son it is and alway's will be special to me yup you gussed it a bunch of dandilion's! But his expression on his face when he handed them to me was of pure love! Something I will never forget ever. so gentleman you have some big shoe's to fill from this little guy and a huge lesson some time's the simple thing's in life are more appreciated then the overly expensisve thing's because at the end of the day they all die but there memory will live on! | |
