Peach roses. Especially peach roses with yellow roses mingling in. The scent, the look...of those two colors together. Yea, been many years many years but to this day I'm a sucker for peach roses. | |

Tulip: incredible but they don't last long and I have to refridgerate the bulbs here in So. Cal.
Orchid: thousands of species (some even native) and aroma that ranges from tangerine to cat box to none at all.
Lily: from plain to gaudy. Some even smell very nice.
Begonia: I long ago tuberous begonias to be a delight:

Lupine: not something you'd hand to a woman, but they can be incredible in the wild.

Posted: 1/18/2007 12:20:33 AM | I find that guys get you flowers that they like...lol...I had an ex that either liked getting me mixed bouquets or lilies...just cause...and because those were flowers he liked...lol...I had another ex get me a bouquet that had a red tropical flower because he liked that flower...lol...as for me...I'm happy with getting any flowers...I love getting flowers....but never after a fight...that doesn't go over very well with me...I'd be inclined to give them away...but I never ever did  | |

I love getting flowers period, it shows forethought and tenderness. I was given a lei(sp?) on a first date once and it was sooooo sweet. | |

Posted: 1/18/2007 2:07:55 AM | My boyfriend gave me each of all type of flowers so i can decide which one will be my favorite n i think thats rather sweet...there was carnation (white, pink & red), each color of roses (white, red, yellow & orange), bluebell (ahh sucha prettiest of all), lillies, lavender n whole lotsa more... but i think my favorite would be stil all of them in one bouquet!! cos its variety ;). Not too much care of whats d meaning of each type of flowers since am too busy admiring them

After he had gone I noticed a little card attached, how sweet I thought, I opened it and it said, " Even after all these years I still miss you" !! Yes we had a cemertry on the road near us! Needless to say, he did not last long. | |

Posted: 2/17/2007 8:17:51 PM | The Texas State flower - Bluebonnet.... Ya'll in England would love this little purple flower. They grow wild throughout our State. Wild flowers that are against the law to pick, but hell we do it and we love 'em. Don't send me roses or daisys, just take me out in the field and lay with me in the bluebonnet wildflower......

Posted: 2/17/2007 9:47:07 PM | Yep, unoriginal. I love roses - what can I say? I do prefer the "cabbage" type (kinda ruffly and windblown) ones more than traditional, though... I also like the little mini-ones... And in untraditional colors...
I also love purple flowers - iris are gorgeous, lavender is always wonderful...
Personally, I can't stand the star-gazer lillies... They LOOK gorgeous but they (as we say in Texas) Staaaaaaaaank. | |

However, I would love to see a guy put some sort of real 'feeling' into his purchase- like "I got you these flowers because they are so beautiful they reminded me of ____" or "I know these are your favorite". Red roses are so generic- it's just what men buy when they don't want to put any thought into it. Just buying the flowers requires thought I know- but it would be even more special if they hadn't just grabbed what "you're supposed to send". | |
