| Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/15/2007 3:08:03 PM | I like the "Captain Ahab" method where I become obsessed with pursuing the great and elusive white whale, go insane, and see it leave my life in ruins.
On second thought, I'll take the less stressful approach of tossing a line out and staking my pole in the ground while I take a nap, hoping that a beautiful mermaid will soon come and wake me up.

| Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/15/2007 4:19:13 PM | I think the answer to this is based on gender. For men, its definitely with the "trout" line - this is simply because we get rejected so much so often. You can spend a good 15 minutes per e-mail, and it most often gets "read and delete" which takes about 2 seconds. Consequently, dating for us becomes a numbers game.
For women (under the 35 year old crowd), they are constantly bombarded by offers....they can afford to be more choosy. Also, few women e-mail men - instead relying on the bait approach....

There seems to be a sentiment that one dates one person at a time, but I think it far more practical to date several people at the same time.
When I was dating, I multi-dated. And no, that didn't include sex. When it included sex, that was a relationship, not dating (at least in my world.)
For women (under the 35 year old crowd), they are constantly bombarded by offers....they can afford to be more choosy.
LOL ~ I can assure you...over 35, we become even more choosy. I don't care home many options I have, one or five ~ if he isn't what I feel is a good catch for me, he needs to keep spawning elsewhere in the pond.
~OT~ I think that I'm more of a lazy fisherman. I just sort of sit on the bank, in the sun, watching all the other people frantically casting the lines in and out. At the end of the day ~ they are tired and disappointed....I'm just drunk and happy.

| Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/15/2007 6:10:47 PM | Haha what a funny Subject: As i have been reading in the messages i suck at most of the fishing you all talk about.
Saying that im a hunter on here im fishing for other fish that are a lot like me , maybe the same breed of fish
I dont know about cross breeding a girl fishing for a guy who is into cars, shopping, pink things and makup and i guy fishing for a girl that likes camping, cats, birds, if that girl hooked that guy it would be a crap catch and she would let him go to fight another day .
Got to love fishing for love

| Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/15/2007 8:00:43 PM | Oh love this topic.
I'm more of the "use the subtle lure" type. It isn't about how flashy or how shiny the lure might be, but how it performs for different types of fish.
Some fish might go after it because its just different enough to intrigue them, and perhaps one might go for the hook. Those are usually the "flounder" variety. Other fish might chase it just because they think they can prove a point because they are the "dog fish" variety.
Personally, I'm looking for the steelhead trout variety. It knows what it likes in a lure, takes it time so as to enjoy the entire experience, and when it thinks its ready, use the hook to reel you in. The steelhead has the patience for the chase, enough fun to play with the line and knowledge of knowing when its time to come on in to the boat.

Not so sure what kind of 'lure' I should use now....flashy or the ones with flies?
Seriously....the one that got away was ttttthhhhiiiiiiissssss big (or so he said!)

| Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/16/2007 7:13:48 PM | keltic and bucsgirl: LOVED your earlier posts!!! keltic's list: 1 - 5 and bucsgirl - the fishnet stockings! Touche!! I'd like to add my fishing method: Pour enough metal shavings into the pond, make sure they taste like steak or beer, watch all the fishies eat them and then go trolling with a big ole magnet..... | Methods of Fishing Posted: 1/16/2007 7:23:23 PM | | ha ha ha ... i wanna POF fish finder. High tech with all the gadgets so I can bypass all the little fishies and find the true catches. | |
|
| Methods of Fishing Posted: 2/4/2007 6:42:50 AM | I like catching a few at a time. Throw them in the live-well and continually cull.
Best fish bait is fish. Land yourself anything and suddenly the other fish will be all over you.

| Methods of Fishing Posted: 2/5/2007 7:10:56 AM | ewww, Nancy, shouldn't those things have been washed BEFORE putting them in the drawer! | |
|
| Methods of Fishing Posted: 2/5/2007 8:48:18 AM | | I've known some women to go "fly" fishing for almost anything wearing pants. And I've known some guys looking for a serious long-term relationship to deploy their "wedding tackle". | |
|
| Methods of Fishing Posted: 2/5/2007 1:09:16 PM | | What makes you think that just because they were in the drawer that they don't deserve to be freshly washed again? It's been a while since I've taken those babies out. Answer your question...? | |
|
| Methods of Fishing Posted: 2/5/2007 1:23:03 PM | Nancy Ahh a woman after my own heart!! (love your handle..too cute!) Yeah I think it's funny those stockings are called fishnets. I admit to even wearing them in the 60's...aging my old azz, aren't I?? I had red ones, yellow ones, green, blue. They were hot back then. Harder to find now, but I do manage to find them somehow. I also got fencenets, and wow are THOSE hot!! If fishnet stockings on a decent pair of legs doesn't snare a man, I'd check his pulse!! | |
