i love music and singing so i enjoy it...

Sounds like an awful lot of effort having to do that. Think I'd much rather just change the channel or turn the tv off. Hell, I can hear all the bad singers I want to at karaoke every week! I'll pay more attention to Idol once they've weeded out the bad and get to the good! | |

did anyone notice when one of the people needed a drink of water...they blurred the bottle so we could not see the name then the camera went right back to the judge's table and there in plain view is the Coke glasses...lmao..........guess the bottle company isnt paying no advertising...........funny! | |

I was in stitches with the 'braless' girl and mom. Laughed my arsie off when Simon asked if they traded hair colours, lmfao.
I liked the Afro guy. He has a great voice. Me thinks he's gonna go far as the girlies will love him and that romantic voice, not to mention his dreamy eyes.
Loved the Giraffe girl also. I couldnt stop laughing when Simon said "you just put through a giraffe" OMG that was fricken hillarious.
The brother and sister were good also. She is a sweety for sure. I think they will both make it farther than alot of others. Will be interesting seeing a bro and sis match-up. OMG that reminds me so much of Donny & Marie. Ugh, no way do I want to repeat the 70's, hehehehehehe

Posted: 1/18/2007 9:50:35 AM | While me and G_W did not watch it last night... oddly enough while i was asleep i broke out into a stirring rendition of "Dancing Queen"... seems Simon had some "rocker" guy sing "Dancing Queen" last night as well... maybe it's seeping into our brains and taking over?
One thing to note.. i had a friend who auditioned for "AI" .. and what you see on TV are the people who have made it past 4 seperate judgings and 2 producers BEFORE they get in front of the "Big 3". So the people who are on tv and absolutly horrible are poeple that were set up to be on tv and absolutly horrible.... its a shame... I do suppose that they get paid for national humiliation but to be "encouraged" to that point.. why do you think they are all so****/confident? it's cause they have been "green lit" by no less then 6 other people before they get there.. they have been TOLD they are good enough to perform in front of the power judges.. sad toying with peoples emotions like that.. | |

1) some people have no absolutely one that is honest with them about their singing ability prior to their auditions
2) ratings are generally highest on these audition shows that are mainly staged to embarrass and denigrate people
I enjoy watching AI when the genre themed shows start - it's interesting to see the singers reaching beyond their usual scope of music and growing in both confidence and performance techniques. It does tend to, however, become more of a popularity contest than a talent show.
I'm much more "whatever" now about the show in general. If I happen to find it when flicking channels, I'll watch; it's not must-see-TV for me. | |

I find a large heavy chair on my cats tail for an hour is a good audio enhancement for the paint drying,and well much better than A.I.

Posted: 1/18/2007 6:14:52 PM | I can't believe that I am actually watching the show. I watched it for the first time last year. (I'm still ticked that either Chris or Mandisa-sp? didn't win!)
The best part about the show, is that if I'm having an "ugly" day and I'm not feeling so good about myself...well, there it is! That will make anyone feel better.
What was with the girl who thought she sounded like the Cowardly Lion? She sounded like Chewbacca! She even did that stupid growl in a song that had nothing to do with The Wizard Of Oz...yikes!
The chick with the fried blonde hair that wasn't wearing a bra? Good Lord! I was actually embarassed for her. She said that her look was "sexy"...ummmm, a gold lame' blouse, with a black skirt, black tights and blue runners? Yikes! She scared me.
My question though, is: Do these people really think they can sing? Or do they just need to be in the limelight for a few minutes? I don't get it.
The great part, though, is when someone walks in that can actually sing...I loved the brother and sister that auditioned...he was adorable! I see problems there, though. I got the feeling that the sister really did think that she was better than him. She looked a little shocked when he was asked who they thought was better and he said "I prefer not to say". | |
