I think maybe you're sort of hanging around the wrong kinds of guys... you're an attractive lady, and you seem pretty confident in your intelligence. I promise there are guys out there who would be into you. I guess the real trick is finding them. | |

A total and complete ditz, no matter how aesthetically perfect, is never attractive in any way to me. That's not to say I don't focus on looks at all- anyone that says they don't care about looks at all is lying. Everyone wants a hottie. But that doesn't mean that overlooks everything else! I'd much rather have someone with average looks and a big, sexy brain then someone who looks super and couldn't think their way out of a paper bag. Because that is -so- not appealing. | |

And you can't take anything anyone else says about your personality either because in truth; guys will say anything to get in your pants, even if there is no chance and are in the most unlikely of scenario's. Also who are you to judge these apparent "thin brainless girls"? Maybe they seem like that to you, and perhaps they are, but you can't say these women don't deserve great guys. Some guys like having a girl like this, because it's almost cute how ignorant it is, and they love the idea of just taking care of them. Go stand over there with the single parents, the short guys, and the BBW's. Thread after thread is basic variations on the same whining theme.
I tend to think along the lines of American Pyscho...go rent it. Everytime you think you have a great personality.....rememeber the speech in middle of the movie about great personalities.

On the rest of the post and the ditsy thin thing. The boys said it best, ditsy is ditsy -thin or fat. Sable, what you're really asking is:
the thin thing -'cause it's stressing you out. I feel you.
One of the great problems we women have is that we are getting a whole load of mixed messages on what's hot and what's not. Yeah, yeah, it's the media, but a whole lot of men are feeding off of it when they didn't so much a few years ago.
More and more guys refer to women with curves as fat and it is quite confusing. Yes, there is big and mighty, large and/or lumpy, (which has it's own beauty) but where did average go?
Nowadays if you wear a bra size with a cup of B (&god forbid bigger) or your *utt fills your trousers with a curve, you're a "large" girl.
A lot of normal sized guys who used to like normal sized girls, don't anymore. Nowadays a lot of really large guys with monster sized bellies (and egos) dictate that we should all be "thin" but thin has been getting thinner every year.
You, Sable19, you look thin to me. But you don't/can't see that because there's always someone who's thinner in the next magazine or on the tv. Look in the mirror instead!
Me, I am average, I fit comfortable within the BMI - smack in the middle.
Yet, after years of being very happy with my bod, feeling like I'm sexy (the hourglass look), at the age of 38, I'm just beginning to feel like a chubster. And no, I haven't gained, I've actually lost lbs but after years of being glad my hip bones never bruised someone in ze wrong place, I'm wondering if there's a plastic surgery to get them sharper.
Geez, I hope to God I don't become an anorexic at my age - I am never going to fit into that size zero.

You're a good looking girl, and if you have a great personality and can hold an intelligent conversation, then do some of the approaching yourself -- to a guy who seems like he isn't so inclined to gravitate only to the ditzy party gals. | |
