A transvestite just likes to wear the clothing of the opposite sex. Transvestites are often straight for instance. Rue Paul is a transvestite not a transsexual. A transsexual should be using the appropriate facilities s/he presents as. Such people will in all ways generally react as a person of that gender so there are no worries. | |

1 sign might be a mans adams apple .
2 a woman usually will strike a match , away from her body , a man usually will strike it towards himself lmao .
men and women will look at there fingernails differently , just watch how a woman looks at her fingernails .
Men as women usually have fkdup names , like star or dakota or dallas or skydancer , or such nonsense , course so do strippers lmao . A real dead give away though is if they wanna sk ur woody , deal is if its a real girl , they won't want to , specially if ya wanna eat at the Y , that would give the game up , basiclly look for the adams apple , its a dead giveaway , if not , enjoy your new found kinko lol . | |

I would call what you call transvestite transgender, defining your distinctions as pre operative and postoperative transsexuals. What you call cross dresser I understand to be a transvestite, thought the words are interchangeable. Cross dressing to my experience is not a life style. It's just an activity. Robin Williams has cross dressed but he's not a transvestite.

If a woman has trousers on and a shirt, can she come into the gents?

Not so. Transvestites and cross-dressers are the same thing. Transvestites simply enjoy dressing in women's clothes, and most receive sexual gratification from it. It's entirely possible that a few of the men who dress as women ARE intending to change their sex to that of a woman, but the term 'transvestite' generally means that they simply enjoy dressing up, and getting off. They are not homosexuals (generally) - and usually don't have any intention of becoming transgendered. If the person in Elwood Blues' case is wearing women's clothes to work, and is dressing as a woman 24/7 then it's entirely possible this person is on the road to becoming a transgender. | |

This person is probably a very interesting individual, if u would take the time to get to know them. As far as the bathroom thing, well, it would seem to me that ur both adults and should act accordinly. I worked around this person for a YEAR before someone told me about this.
It's kinda funny...
I work on one side of the building and she works on the other and I found out from one of the people she (he) supervises.
She acted like I should have known. She said "didn't you notice he has an ADAM'S APPLE? ... and the stubble? He SHAVES DUDE!"
Another thing kind of freaked me out, which was that I also found out another person who had worked there PREVIOUSLY was a TV also...and this was a person who I thought was pretty much together... not bad looking *LMAO* I mean, I wasn't attracted to her... but I never questioned that these were women.
I guess I'm just in kind of a state of shock. Others I've talked to said they were aware of it. That's how uncertain I was, that I had to ask others after the first lady told me!
No... I don't feel threatened or anything. In fact, about when this person started working there I made a big deal one day when I was sitting in the stall and I heard some high heels come clip-clopping into the men's room, stand at the urinal, then go to the sink and then walk out. I thought it may have been a black guy I work with who wears kinda stylish clothes... and we're close friends, so I teased him that he sounded like a woman when he walks around in those shoes... but NO!!!
I think in the future I might peek between the cracks in the stall when I hear a noise like that!!!
OH... and it's the WOMEN who go all the way down to the first floor from the third to use the restroom.... because he uses the women's restroom... *ugh buoy* Maybe he overheard me teasing my friend and it made "her" uncomfortable?
What an awkward situation!!!!

Posted: 4/9/2005 12:38:28 PM | I have 2 transgendered friends ( 1 -FTM - female to male and 1 MTF - male to female) and I work with one transgendered person (MTF).
Transvestites and cross-dresser are different terms for the exact same thing. They identify strictly as the sex they were born as. They just enjoy dressing up as the opposite gender. It is generally for sexual gratification. They can be straight, bi or gay. Within the Goth community this is very common. I have a several very close male friends that dress as women. The majority are absolutely straight. They also put me to shame as a woman. :+)
Transgendered people are completely different. They are born with a brain that tells them they are the opposite gender. To have sex re-assignment surgery you must live as that gender for at least a year before a surgeon will perform the surgery. You must also undergo extensive counseling before you can be considered for surgery. There have been a number of studies showing that transgendered people have brains that are physically similar to the gender they identify with and not the gender they are born as.
One of my best friends is FTM. He is taking the hormones and has had one of the surgeries performed. He has also had his name legally changed. He also identifies as bisexual. Out of the other two people I know one identifies as straight (MTF); in fact he has 2 kids and has been married for 20 years. He is still married even though both are now female. The other identifies as gay.
They are no more likely to hit on someone than a gay or straight person is.

Just because I'm a straight, monogamous female it doesn't mean I can only be friends with other straight, monogamous females. That would be an extremely boring world for me to live in. I pick my friendships based on the quality and the character of the person; not the gender/sexual orientation. | |
