you say you WERE married to a football player. did you leave him or he you and before or after his career ended???
I left him and it was almost 5 years after his career ended but has nothing to do with that. I'm not going to disclose the reasons on a public forum but let's just say he developed some issues that I couldn't deal with. I know what you're getting at but you couldn't be more wrong. Every situation is different. | |

If this guys got mucho cash on hand, and leads a successful life.. she can settle down and raise a family with him. She'll never have to worry about money, she can just be a stay-at-home mother, and sit back and sip daquris on their nice beachfront property and raise the kids.

The way i look at it is to ask the expert so lets find out what Jim Rome said about this exact matter about 2 years on his show shortly after interviewing wayne Gretzky. A caller asked Rome what sport has the hottest wifes and this was Romes answer.
Hockey definitely hockey, the chicks love the scars and apperently skating causes muscle growth in places that make for better love making
next would have to be football than any other sport then basketball, i never really understood that six foot plus gaints with these little ugly woman who still dress like they don't have money

And there is a level of prestige being with a bigshot athlete. | |

Its no different today, professional athletes are the new gladiators and they deserve what they get. Most professional athletes are good looking (atleast body wise), they make a tonne of money and generally have care free attitudes. Many aren't so bright though but most woman don't like men smarter then themselves.
Oh and Soccer players have the hottest wives. | |

Has someone ever seen a professional football, baseball, hockey player go out with an average looking woman ?? So, in a way all these hot babes are going after the money and the guys after the looks.
I'm not saying these guys are not good looking , but i would sure like to see one day a rich hockey player date an average looking girl.
Because they can and their egos get in the way and don't see them as gold diggers. [if they are.] Also even if they did date/married a less then hot women they would pay for her to become hot.  | |

I remeber my ex used to say " why dont you be like her, she keeps her hair done she always has her make up on." and blah blah blah. So I told him You get me a hair dresser and make up artist to keep me looking like that and a maid and chef to cook while im getting worked on. Also i need a good cosmetic surgeon to do nips and tucks. When you have enough money to supply me with those things Ill be more then obliged to look like her, but until then " SHUT YOUR BROKE AZZ UP" | |

Maybe professional athletes have a similar confidence level or esteem as above "average" women do so are more attracted to them.
Maybe professional athletes are only exposed to women with above average looks, so only meet women of above average looks.
Kind of like asking why movie stars only (generally) date other movie stars/directors. | |

Posted: 9/6/2008 1:01:25 AM | Questions like this always seem to be based on the assumption that physically beautiful women are empty or ugly inside, soulless and superficial. Some I've met are but others are just as beautiful inside as they are out. I would say it's a minority and some of these pro athletes definitely fall for the money-grubbers who are really not far from being a high-end prostitute and are looking for a comfy ride and see a big pay-off when the end of the relationship comes.
One example of an apparently loving and real relationship is Favre, he's been with his wife since high school and they really seem to be in love after 20 years together. She is beautiful but like most on here have pointed out, with everything at your disposal (makeup, fitness gear, top-notch medical care) and no need to have a job, an average looking person can look really good. | |

What shallowness women lack in the field of physical attraction they make up for in wanting power, wealth, and social status.
Now a lot of people are going to disagree with this because the truth is not nice and they mask it even from themselves as a psychological defence mechanism. So shovels on stand-by, and wait for the bullshit to roll in. Boy, this is one really unhappy person. You were right in your first statement, "it's called reality" but it has nothing to do with being shallow, it has to do with, well...reality. We ALL want the "best" partner we can find; and having money makes that a lot easier. However, marrying someone attractive does not make someone stupid, immoral, or shallow; neither does having money. YES, it's a lot easier being shallow if you are wealthy; and a lot easier marrying money if you are attractive; but being wealthy, or attractive, are not bad things in and of themselves. I'm thinking jealousy is also quite shallow.
"What shallowness women....." ".....always have hot wives?" Just a point of clarification; professional athletes also have hot husbands.  | |
