True, it isn't a dealbreaker, because personality is key, but it is a preference. All we can do is put ourselves out there and try to make a connection. Finding that right person is that combination of personality and chemistry. And sometimes it just can't be defined, but you know it when you meet him/her and have to hope that they feel the same way. That is really the killer in the dating world, when you like someone and are interested and they don't respond in kind. But I do agree with one of the posts, it does help to have an attractive picture posted, at least with a smile. Good luck in your search. | |

There are other ways of finding people who are interested in you as a bbw or even men who are bhm's as there are big men who need love too. It always amazes me how there are more over-weight Americans in this country and yet the focus on the fashion & entertainment industry is primarily on what I call the single digit women. Basically that means from size 0 to 9.
Wow, when I think that there exists a size zero that many women strive to achieve, it just boggles my mind? There is nothing positive about being a size 0 or the word itself...it basically means...zippo, zilcho and above all else nada!! Folks there is nothing there!! No breasts, no curves and nothing to indicate that a "woman" is even there.
What that figure reflects is basically a mal-nourished adult, a pre-pubescent girl or a skinny boy! It is safe to say that any man that likes that needs to have his head examined as the Art Masters such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Michaelangelo, Reubens, DaVincci and others have throughout the history of time depicted the beauty of a real woman as being robust and full. Is the Mona Lisa thin? How about Botticelli's or Titans Venus Rising from the Sea?
I myself am a full-figured, self confident woman who knows who I am and doesnt need any man's acceptance and approval on my body image. I look in the mirror everyday and see how truly beautiful I am on the inside and outside. I've been told I have a great personality and it's all part of who I am. The entire package is there and not to be sorted out. If a man wants to be with me then he has to accept all of me and that is the bottomline.
For those who didnt know, there is a bbw/bhm and admirers club that meets every saturday night in Tampa and they have several sites that can be viewed at myspace and yahoo groups etc. The best way to expand your social network is to seek out those who are in what I call your special interest group. BBWdatefinder, BBWpersonalsplus and other sites have been a big help for me after my divorce to help me get back into the dating scene etc and be comfortable with someone who already admires a woman of size.
Also, I decided to not wait around to find a date, so I ventured out to be supportive of any local gatherings of BBW events to meet people in a general social setting, make friends & network instead of going to other events that primarily had thin people in attendance which put me in the minority. If anyone is interested I have more information on Club Rubenesque and will gladly share that as it has been great to see others who enjoy being in a club that has good music, fun people and a great atmosphere of love and acceptance.
Life is too short to wait around for someone to become "interested" in you. You gotta make it happen and not sit around and let it find you. BBW's are too beautiful and special woman to let life pass us by. Im back on the site and single again ... just wanted to give an update. The man that I met on here although a nice guy turned out to not be the one for me... took me a while to find that out and I guess I could tell you all the sharky details but lets face it we all have lessons to learn and apparently I needed to learn another... God help me, I learned it , so Im back in the dating game and ready to meet some wonderful and brain stimulating gentlemen after chatting and maybe some phone calls. So tell me how has everyone been ?

Just meeting the right man for me. But I am honest and keep my pictures current and just let my personality shine through, My sense of humor sometimes stops guys in thier tracks! I did go over what you all were saying and I agree with some of it and disagree with others of it. I am a larger girl of ethnic decent and trustme when you visit the people in the old country the one thing you hate the most is people going "oh your face is so pretty but you need to work on your body" I can just shoot them. As for meeting guys well thing is someone said it best a bone is made for a dog not a man and if you watch the movie exit wounds he quotes " if you wanna feel the heat you gotta have the meat" (as in the girl or even guy). NO one wants to break a person in half while having sex lol ok ok enuf jokes. Anyways I just wanted to say loosing weight is the biggest seller right now for people and excercise is included in that. Trust me on it I have researched and tried about anything. As for guys or girls who dont like bigger people let me tell you this....when you go after someone only cause of their looks be warned because half the people will turn out ugly and old with wrinkles and what nots. Sometimes you need to go past that and see how people are and I am the first to admit I judge by looks and I havent been on a date in ages because of it....ok ok enuf talk I just wanted to voice my opinion (oh yeah I do date not cute people because they attract me with their personalities). I like girls with curves, a skinny girl is just not sexy, bigger girls are far more attractive.

Ive always been a wee bit chubby. Fluffy.. whatever the hell you want to call it. And yes it is hard getting a normal guy. I tend to wind up with these jerks because I tend to settle. And Ive got I dont know how many skinny- mini friends who tell me I should not settle... but lets face it, its slim pickens in the fat girls club. If I could just find a man with a good job, a great personality and a drivers license and a car, I think Id be set to go. Let me add that he must not be over 40... or an alcoholic.. or a drug addict.. AM I ASKING TOO MUCH???  | |

Not all "good" men are rich. I once lived in Mary Esther too. Retired from Hurlburt. Owned a used car dealership there too. A salesman who had years of experience in selling cars once told me "There's an a** for every seat". That's true in dating too. Don't think your size be it small to large will be the problem. My GF just asked me a few days ago why I did not like Dog's wife on the TV series. She thought I'd be attracted to the boobs. That's just the opposite for me. I had a friend up north that would not go out with a woman unless she was over 200 lbs. Since about 95% of us are not in perfect shape, we should not expect to find that person in perfect shape. We need to look deep inside the person before we even attenpt to make a judgement on if we would like that person or not. Be yourslef and nobody else. I'd suggest to all women who think they need to take off a few pounds to not even mention it. Heck, we all need to change something about ourselves, but, that's not easy to do. My x-wife was 180 when I met her. Not till I got to know her better did I fall for her. I fell for the person inside and not the person outside. Our big thing in the divorce was the military moves and not settling down. So, that explains why she is an x now. Again, don't give up, just be yourself. It will come to you one day and you don't know when that day will come. | |

I have been in Both boats and still fighting, I was 439 lbs, Healthy, Tall and never bad looking, I did NOT SMELL, Nor did I SWEAT like a pig, YES, I had issues, But I worked on then, figured what they were and mended them
I have LOST over 200 lbs and I am still in the same boat, I am having surgery in Oct to remove excess skin, But as I said, I am still alone, I loved me then and I love me now.
As a fat, Chunky, Obese or whatever you want to call me, I was and still am human, I feel, laugh, cry, hurt, want, need, expect, dream, and I do bleed red when cut, We are all the same, If you look at a books cover and decide not to read it because the cover looks boring, The you may miss the best story ever told, Go beyond the cover, you may be surprised at what you read.
Don't judge a person based on something that may have happened to you or from things that you hear, I am a person who loves life and I dreamed or having a home, husband and all of the things that little girls dream of, It just never worked, But I did get to very beautiful girls out of 2 bad moves. So I guess you could say I have it all.
