Posted: 1/4/2008 10:20:10 PM | Well...I think most people wouldn't bring their pets or children on first dates, why would someone do that?? Wow..I thought I've met some weird men on these sites..

Posted: 1/5/2008 8:31:59 PM | I actually had a lovely first date off POF at the local off-leash park. We both have dogs, and it really broke the ice to watch the dogs run and play.
Bringing my child along, however, is a no-no for me. Even having a date in a public place doesn't guarantee one's safety - stupid to put your kid in potential danger. | |

Posted: 1/7/2008 12:01:36 PM | I don't think I would mind if a date brought a dog, as long as he/she showed a smidge of respect we agreed beforehand. What if I were allergic? THAT sure would cut a date short!
As for kids, I would think that's a no-go, at least until you know the other person a WHOLE LOT BETTER, and are willing to introduce your little ones to them.
BTW cats would definitely be a deal-breaker, I love cats but can't eat a whole one.  | |

Posted: 7/18/2008 11:52:54 AM | | Kids don't belong on a date. Dogs are another matter. A woman who has a dog should bring it along on a first date. It offers protection from potential rapists. It shows how well the date, and dog, get along. Why date a guy who hates your dog, or whom your dog hates? Dogs also sense character better than humans. If the date is a beater, rapist, jack the ripper type, the dog may sense it, and react hostiliy, and so warn the woman that the guy is not good relationship material. I once met a woman who brought all 5 of her dogs on the date. They all loved me. The woman and I hit it off, and all went well...until the dogs started likeing me better than her. Then she got jealous, and dumped me. To this day, I miss the dogs more than her. | |
