Twisted, I think this is what BD was referring to when he wrote that Lincoln had just called many democRATS sabateurs:
"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale, and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."

Personally, I think BD has it spot on...many democRAT "leaders" in Congress, the media, etc. HAVE indeed engaged in the bahavior that Lincold was talking about.

If the question isn't something you don't want to answer then simply flip to another thread. I see no reason to be insulting to others just because the opinion doesn't match what you think. As far as this thread goes I stand by my original answer and if it's something you cannot live with then that is a problem you will have to sort out for yourself. | |

It is not fair to berate another POFer for a difference of opinion. Truth be known, this whole thread could get "locked up" because it has been hijacked many times. The question is asked, "Hillary or Barack: Who Is Your Choice and Why".......My answer is neither, I dislike both of them.
I am not treading on the toes of my friends in here...really, I am not. I don't want new POFer's to not get involved with Forum debate if they get their hides seared off because we didn't like their answer! I talked to a newby POFer, I still disagreed on some of her points, she with mine. We still parted friends!! Now that I like!!!

Well I haven't found that to be the case. I don't care how intelligent you may feel or may literally be, but you have collectively shown compulsive ignorance and have succesfully created a very unfriendly and unwelcome place here as soon as my opinion didn't match up to yours. You can ask me to define for you but as we have done this on another thread and I left respectfully without so much as another comment I can see that it will not matter.
Continue with your ego trips, I was answering a simple thread and by the way i'm not a dem but I see no need to degrade those who are. I have tried to make nice and show respect and gotten nowhere.

I look at it like this. When democratic's and Republican's do that. It's there right. You may not agree with it. But everyone is free to do it. People who come on here calling name's and saying maybe you should move to IRAQ are the one's who seem to have the problem understanding what freedom is.
You are free call people name's and belittle them for not saying what you want them to say. But thank god people who are this way are not in power. Because then, We would not be free.
I got your back Twisted. This is what I been talking about long ago. Everyone want's to know why I changed into who I am on these forum's because of some people on this thread. So if you see me being what you think is an azz on another thread in this forum to someone. Come back to this thread or America the Beautiful thread and see why Im being that way.

I have recently left one thread due to the fact that you became combative when my opinion didn't match yours. I have no interest in posting only what you want to hear and have tried to remain respectful with my answers. At this point I could really care less. You have not answered the question the thread was asking at all and have been all around the topic but never managed to find it. Contrary to what you seem to believe this is an open forum where if you had an open mind you could possibly learn something, or if you spoke with even an ounce of respect toward other people could possibly even bring someone to understanding an issue they didn't understand. Clearly being mean is much more entertaining for you so have at it. In the future I will simply consider you "hostile" but I will not stop posting on these threads just because you can't find it in yourself to ]

So they went in after him only for that Republican to change his mind because it was not the popalar thing to do at the time and our military had to sit back and watch all those innocent people being slaugtered because that Republican went back on his word. We had already severely weakended the Iraqi military - it was up to the Iraqis to finish Hussein off. Perhaps you're confusing the Iraq situation with that of the Cuban situation while JFK was president, when he promised air support to the Cuban counter-revolutionaries, only to pull that air support while the Cubans were on the invasion beach?

Ok, heres something else to think about. The presidant has to be someone that will command respect from allies, and diginitaries over the world, right? Well, in Muslim countries such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and so forth Women are NOTHING, and have to wear a veil. If Hillary is president, will she wear a viel when visiting these nations? IF she does, she appears WEAK, and do we want a presidant that appears WEAK? If she does, she appears as she is lowering her standards as far as civil rights go, as well as appearing as ONE HUGE ASSKISSER. Is that what we want? Either a WEAK Presidant, or one that lowers standards and KISSES ok Tony this is a BD response and my response to that was
I was answering the what I felt the thread was asking, and I can honestly say I never expect to have to make the choice, but would prefer Hillary over Barack. I don't think anyone has any more respect for Bush than they did for Marg Thatcher. It was certainly not to ruffle feathers, but only to answer what the thread was asking. Do you on the other hand want a muslim running our country? both those candidates have clear problems for becoming president, I saw it as purely hypothetical so please don't take it as a personal attack on anyone elses opinion, honestly Yes I suppose looking at this I really did just viciously tear this poor man apart and can just totally understand why people are so upset. And no, your word is NOT proof. Just as my proving you wrong about those silly SB wins doesn't mean I'm an A student, your service in the Gulf War doesn't give you special knowledge about the geopolitical strategies employed by GHWB.
In any case, I certainly don't know of ANY Republican senators or Congressmen who are going over to other countries and bad-mouthing our President, our troops, and basically, our country (think dennis kucinich). Nor are any Republicans telling the country that we can't win this war (think harry reid, ted kennedy, john kerry, etc.). This is treason, plain and simple.
Wolfie and Twisted, have you two and your fellow democRATS ever considered the fact that, for y'all to be "right," the U.S. has to lose this war? That anything good for the U.S. in this war, is bad for YOUR side? And that anything bad for the U.S. forces in Iraq, is good for you democRATS? Considering the position y'all have taken, the very best thing for your side is if the U.S. gets humiliated in the Middle East, and the worst thing for you is if the U.S. achieves stability over there. It's real simple: If we lose the war, the democRATS will win; if we win the war, the Republicans win. So whose side are you on?
