Otherwise I dont care who sees them. Now I do see alot who flash them like some kind of calling card. To me those who need Inked to draw attention to themselves. Or to think thier cool. Yeah clue one. Rethink your personality traits. Cause being Inked aint about being cool Its about whats Inside. | |

As far as tat's go. Yes I have them. Are they visible? YES. Do I advertise them. HELL YEAH. They either have a personal meaning to me or it's just something I've liked for a very long time. But hold that thought. OPEN YOUR MIND AND KEEP IT THERE.
What is "PERSONAL EXPRESSION"? Humm lets really look at that question shal we. Here's a reality based list of just the obove.
1) Blond being a brunette
2) Nike instead of Rebok
3) Toyota instead of Honda
4) Truck instead of Car
5) Jeans instead of Shorts or skirt
6) Jewelry or no jewelry
7) Dogs vs. Cats
8) T-Shirt or Long sleeve's
9) Boot's or Sandles
10) Heels or flats
Everything in life is a form of "PERSONAL EXPRESSION"!!!!!!!!!

Every decision you make, do or not, say or not, opionon, jesture, the way you walk, talk, facial expressions, hand gestures ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS A PERSONAL EXPRESSION. It's a reflection of yourself. We all have our reasons for what we do. It always makes sence to the person who did it but may not to someone else. One of the great things about this country is the fact that we can say/do what we want with out reprival from the government to a point. But the down side to that is we have to deal with what others may/may not think of us. Fact of life. Yes.
As far as tat's affecting someone getting a job. BS!!!!!!!!!
As long as you can do the job to the companies expectations they will hire you. There are many, many people out there with tat's that pull down well into the 6 fingure income range every year. And they didn't get the job by luck either. Does a tat keep you from getting the job. Umm. Maybe. If you have a dorogatory tat that's highly visible and your applying for a job where you are dealing with their customers/public. Yeah probably you not going to get the job especially if your attitude reflects of the tat.
As far as these surveys. Yeah right do you know how many people they asked. No you don't. Get real. Most surveys involve less than, PAY ATTENTION FOLKS, .1% of the country. So there is no way that it's accurate on what the country thinks. As usual.
Like or not like tat's. Or them being trashy. Who really care's. It's your opionon and your entitled to it. But be prepared and excepting of a opionon being givin right back to. Don't get upset because you think it's politically incorrect or something. Just move on and get over it. You probably upset the person you made a comment about and it's a 2 way street.
As far as this "BEING POLITICAL CORRECT B.S." now days. I think we as americans and human being's in general have become so overly sensitive that it's comming to a point that we can't/won't think for ourselves anymore. The whole reason for america is/was freedom. We need to get back to that way of thinking/life people.

Posted: 5/27/2007 3:55:09 PM | I have them prominantly displayed on my profile, and do feel it is important - I have tattooes because they are to me, a great form of personal expression. I feel that I am unique for many reasons, and they help me distinguish myself in the same way we all wear clothes we like, and have hair we like, etc, etc. Showing them on my profile let's people see this form of expression, and some will appreciate and like it, some others who are more conservative may not like tattoos, or the type or person who would get and display them. I'd rather show them, as they are a part of me forever, and have only people who accept and appreciate them contact me.  | |

Posted: 5/27/2007 5:46:06 PM | why does anyone emphasize anything about themselves on their profile? because people put into and onto their profiles what they feel or think might in certain ways set them apart or similar to others. i mean in any regard.
i have just today put a picture up, not of the work itself, but of me while having it done last night, and smiling and biting my finger as my best friend snapped the picture. her brother is the artist that designed and inked it for me. i just had an old one i was never really happy with; a few might understand what it means to me that he took a larger than medium and more than weird shaped and colored tat to cover, and worked literally for hours to give me something i can be happy about instead of dreading answering questions about when they see it. it's a big 'un, on my left upper back, near my shoulder.
i had the original work back in 84, and that is a one hell of a long time to live with something that just really didn't "fit" anything i wanted represented on my skin any more. do i need to show everyone? no, but i don't mind showing those close to me. i think ink is a personal thing and not something to be ashamed of, but i have been interested in ink since the early eighties, introduced to the art form by my ex, who at one time worked for lyle tuttle.
who cares why people emphasizes anything in their profiles? because it's really more what people choose to depict or reveal on profiles gives others ideas of who that person is, don'tcha all think? it sometimes comes down to a very definitive and personal choice. | |

But it's a crappy tattoo and it's not something I emphasize at all. | |

I have noticed that men and women with tattoos/ piercings seem to put a lot of emphasis on displaying them in their profiles.
Hmmm. Guess I'm different. Mine don't show nor are they disclosed in my profile.
Like it is something extremely important.
It is important. There's nothing worse than having tattoos, unbeknowst to the person sitting across from you, only to hear, "Women with tattoos are trashy." And yes, that's happened to me ~ and then they wondered why I didn't want a second date. It's funny what a foot in the mouth can do to budding chemistry.
Why do you guys do guys put a lot of focus on them? What does it do for you? What do you think it does for someone you are looking to date?
What do they do for me? That's no one's business but mine. For those I might be meeting? It very well might be a deal killer. I don't expect anyone to like tattoos, but if he likes me, he'll need to either accept mine and the fact I want more, or he best just move along because unlike men, these are permanent.  | |
