Hmm, well I won't do that again. Never heard from him again and I'm guessing "mostly" good kids (they're good, I swear!) just constitutes too much baggage. I'd add some others to your "baggage" list, but on point. I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who when asking me what my baggage was would give me that uneasy feeling that our ideas of the word were more than a little incongruous. They wouldn't even have to wait for me to respond, as they would probably hear the back-up-beeps of the moving van behind me. | |

I believe what men mean when they say this is they are looking for a woman that does not carry all of her past experiences around and dwell upon them every day. I think they mean that they would like to meet a woman whose every conversation does not return to an ex and some terrible experience she had.
The fact is though, you are right, we all have some baggage, because we are all old enough to have lived long enough to have experienced some relationships that did not work out.
The question is, do you harbor ill feelings still for any of these individuals and carry them around with you tainting any future possible relationships?

2... No Ex-lovers posing as platonic friends...
3... No Ex hanging in the background trying to get back with you....
4... No criminal/legal/financial issues hanging over you...
5... No serious drug/alcohol issues...
6... No psycho relatives/friends/ ex-lovers/ ex-inlaws(See #2 and #3 again)
7... No obsessed unrequited male friend pursuing you....(See #6 again)
8... No issues with keeping and maintaining a job/car/house/life
9... No anger issues with men/your ex/ multiple Ex's/other women/dogs/police/ex-inlaws/parents/government/alcohol/drugs/ music
10. No cults/new age psuedo religions/ new age /spiritualism/shamanism/wiccans/paganism or faith healers or bible thumpers
11. No more than 3 cats
12. No unexplained deaths in your family....
13. No issues with body image
14. No issues of Depression/attempted suicide
15. No STD's
16. No more than a reasonable number of sex partners/experiences... for the record, my definition of reasonable will be my own and subject to my own personal views...
17. No appearances in nude/sex/porno videos/pics or on the Internet.
18. No past romantic experiences(particularly sexual) with any member of my family or my friends...
19. No insanity.

Posted: 10/20/2009 9:17:38 PM | We all have baggage, the emotional baggage is one kind of baggage we can control if we choose to. I look at all my bad experiences as learning experiences or things that made me stronger as a person, however, some people cry the victim and become drama kings or queens about their bad experiences in life. Then there is the personal responsibilty issue, choices we make in our personal life,going to school, keeping a job, what is your credit score, mine is very good by the way. Paying the bills on time which I do. Living on a budget which I do. Handling break ups and saying its their lost. Other choices are; chosing not to drink or smoke or not to to drugs. I chose no to all of these 3 horrible habbits. Baggage can be an ex hanging around or children from 3 different fathers or mothers. Some people do not know how use birth control and are not picky enough who they choose to have sex with. Life is full of choices, I know the choices I made were responsibile even though people think I am some weirdo for not getting married or having kids. NO I am not a weirdo I made some good choices in my life that did not leave me any baggage.
