Posted: 1/29/2007 3:11:01 AM | awesome new feature to view other viewers.. obviously it will change people's viewing behaviour, but it's useful, and it illustrates how amazingly busy POF is.. something like 70 people viewed my listing in the first couple days, I have a female friend who seems to get 38 every hour or two.. and as the feature evolves MANY people will opt out, and the initial spike of activity will smooth out..
it would be more useful if it shows repeat views as a new view.. and, we need to ability to block stalkers, which this function shows a bit of... if someone is spending 14 hours a day with your profile, maybe we can just opt out and disappear off that persons radar..
funny stuff, I can say one thing for sure, there's a lot of awesome people out there(that means you).. amazing to be able to interact with a handful through here...

This new edition would be good if you had the option to deicide whether or not you wanted that person to know you have just viewed their profile. General browsing should not register as being viewed.
Admin, I think you are on the right track with this, but it needs to be more personalised.

How does everyone feel about people being that nosey and able to see who viewed you? I know it's for your own benefit, I like the idea, but does it have fault?
JMO..personally, I think it's a good idea. In being that it has useages. I really dont think it has fault, it's a tool and the fault will only ever lie in the users hands and how they use it. You can always hide yourself from being seen if you wish, so really...it is a benefit to this site.

is incorrect, they may contact you or they may not, there is no explicit wording from any of the moderators or admin that state they opted NOT to contact you - what owuld be the point of the feature then?
I've tried emailing people who've viewed me ,thinking they are shy, but that's never the case. Just read deleted or unread deleted.

Log out first and make sure you delete your Cache, Cookies, any Off-Line files, History, etc. Basically dump everything from your Browser, then check out profiles; problem solved. | |

The way the system works if they show up as a match to you, you show up as a match to them. | |

When you show (can't remember exactly) "women on line" in sex personals, you left out the bit about "looking for men or looking for women". This does make a difference

Man there are alot of paranoid freaks on here.

Who knows, who cares, maybe your photo is so damn vague they can't tell what you Are?
After all most of the search engines only provide like 1" x1" photos and let's face it, there's some pretty lousy photographers out there.
I veiw Guys, does that make me gay ? Say it to my face, while you're viewing my profile.
Hopefully if they see something they like, be it anything, they'll E-Mail me and say so. As I do.
Maybe I like the damn car in the background, WHO CARES. Do it. That's why you're here. Not to sit and hide behind the curtains in fear of absolutely nothing.
The analogy of this being a Fish Pond becomes pretty clear as soon as you stick your toe in the water, they all scurry away hiding behind the rocks.
I enjoy feedback regarding my profile be it critical or complimentary, as a whole or in part.
I just don't see how you're supposed to find out if there's a connection if you don't first connect.
