I like the feature, but it can even be better, if the user gets the capability of deleting the profiles themselves as opposed to waiting for seven days to be deleted then it would turn out a much better feature. Why? Very simple, if the 36 people list gets full, then the user doesn't get updated information on a daily basis. If we had the capability to delete the profiles ourselves, then the list can constantly be updated and much less work for you guys in terms of deletions. | |

Posted: 3/25/2007 8:39:23 PM | fyi - the list IS updated constantly...it shows the last people that viewed you. if it's not updating, it simply means not that many are viewing you. sorry.
i do not think your suggestion bears any merit. the feature is self-fulfilling...if you get enough views. | |

But I read somewhere on this site that, when a female views another females profile, her photo will not pick up in the 'VIEWED ME' section (unless her profile states she is actively looking for women only).
Now Im a little worried. As a bloke, its kinda good to read what other men have written in their profile to only improve your own. Having viewed a few, I realised I dont want 'em to think I "swing the other way" or have the hots for them! I hope not but, does my photo pick up in their VIEWED ME section? | |

I'm pretty sure the ladies can't see if another woman viwed their profile so i'm sure it's the same for the guys.
It's an okay feature, but i've sent a few emails to women....and then they have viewed me, and then......It might be better to disable it, then you may be viewed for different and perhaps more hopeful reasons...
I do have a question.....people who have viewed me aren't dropping off even after 10 days. What's up with that? | |

Posted: 4/10/2007 5:34:39 PM | err, yeah, i'm for real. that was an honest attempt to help you. my who viewed me rotates itself once or twice a day, so i was doing my best to understand your problem. if you're not getting viewed, you need better pics. if they view you and don't contact you, you need a better profile. simple.
and might i remind you that those who click on your profile probably WILL read your posts...oh, i see you just figured that out.

It shows the number of photos available for that person. If you click on the NEXT link under the photo, the image will change.

I still do not understand if , when we click off the feature ,to look at a profile without someone's knowledge, view the profile, then click the feature back on, whether or not only that one viewing is hidden. Just curious. There were a few replies to that question but they were not at all clear to me. Another poster mentioned that not all of us are that sophisticated as to how this computer works. It would be nice for posters to keep that in mind when answering in sharp, terse answers. We are not stupid, just unfamiliar with some of the workings of a computer.
I think we can use these viewings to our advantage. After all, many of us are on here to meet, so I do not see it as an invasion. As to my curiosity regarding any of them not contacting me, I click back and often find the man who has viewed me HAS read my profile and is often a smoker. He is also often located a long distance away. Or his age is not within my range. I'm still flattered that something caused him to want to find out more about me. Posting on Blogs and Forums has increased the traffic on my Viewed and that also flatters me. I'm assuming they have liked what I have to say because to date I have not received any criticism. AND, I have received 2 flower bouquets from WOMEN....now if that isn't different...BUT NICE! I have also received nice messages from various posters and bloggers which were not date oriented, just acknowledgement of my postings. I also do the same.

Posted: 4/24/2007 7:43:28 AM | I'm almost certain that you do not trigger the ViewedMe setting if you have it off when viewing someone's Profile, then restore it. (else, there would be no point at all in such a setting, imo). A lot of these sorts of questions can be answered for sure by practicing on someone:
Think of someone (a prominent poster for example, and they typically have wide open mail settings to encourage emails generally) who gets a lot of views (and so, their ViewedMe has surely changed since you last visited them from a longish time ago, or that you've never visited).
Go into 'cloaked mode' (do not show when members are viewed, in your mail settings), view their Profile. Return to regular mode, then email them and ask, are you now seen by them on their ViewedMe display?

The view me page was so straight forward. Now you see 10 people that were active in the past hour or so. Then a list of 30 that have visited your page in the past month.
The old list gave you all the information you required. I don't need to know that someone that viewed my page is now online. If they wanted to contact me , they would have by now.
Lose the history page too why your at it. The history page doesn't enhance the site at all. | |

That's great, and with the IM link, a handy way to chat up recent visitors (though, imo, the classy and polite way to IM, is to first email your target to see if they're interested). I suspect the net result will be to get those who are 'not looking', to disable their ViewedMe triggering their display on others' profiles, and only the serious will leave it 'ON'. Fair enough (I'd rather not be seeing the 'not serious' ones on my ViewedMe display anyway).

I can see that being handy of your a high volume emailer. Maybe I'm in the minority in that I don't contact a large percentage of people in my local area. My interest is primarily in the forums, so the hsitory page isn't really relavent to me. The old contact page suffices for me. Most people in my history page, I have no idea what i may have even emailed them about, only that there was no extended contact. | |

It's like advertising feedback, What's my target market? And what pics or no pics appeal to them?.. If I see a pic that i like in my viewed me screen, I'll view his profile and at some point if theres interest there will be a message. It's sorta like a poke on that other site. | |

Just show a count as to how many times that person has viewed your profile.
If it is a one or two, then the person has taken a casual glance.
If it becomes more than that, then there is a genuine interest | |

No, as the Viewed Me Section is part of the 'Searchable' Database that's completely off the Radar when a Profile is hidden.

I like the viewed me feature,I do not like the new "Last online that viewed you" top row.It would be far more useful to have a "counter" to see who is looking at your profile multiple times.
I have disabled my viewer option as a result of the new top row feature and won't re-enable it until that feature is removed.I don't want to be "front and center", on someones viewer list that I peaked at, every time I log in. | |
