I'm very tactile and love to hug, although some people are just not like that, so I always wait for them to come to me, having said that I would never turn a hug down (unless they were really smelly !!! ) A hug from a child means the world and a hug from someone truely special to you is amazing..... I love a good hug!! lets share the hugs !!!!!!

I have always been an affectionate person and have never been afraid to show my feelings. I am not afraid to hug anyone and get hugs back. Feeling wanted means a lot to me.

I like hugging men but not women. All my girlfriends think its funny and hug me purposely to make me whinge about it. I hugged my children when they were little but not so much now.
Think it stems from my upbringing - dont think my parents hugged me much. Im aware that Im different to a lot of people but Ive never felt deprived or unwanted. Im friendly and affectionate in other ways.

i love a good huggle!!! its nice just to be able to show your affection to someone without having to use words.

with me there are 3 different type of hugs,
the hugs for my family are fairly intimate and loving (especially with my brothers or son, they cuddle so innocently and kindly without me having to ask for a cuddle)
there's hugs for my girl and male friends, which depending on the reason for the hug, are usually very close and loving hugs.
then theres the huggle snuggles for my loved 1/ significant other, these are really intimate and rather spiritual and sensual.

A good hug can cheer most people up.

I have found that it is possible to blag hugs of strangers. For example a couple of weeks ago I met some girls in Regents Park and got talking to them for a while then asked them for a hug and they said yes.

I was never hugged as a child and although i have always found it natural and easy to hug my kids i sometimes find it hard to hug friends...depends who they are...im not a very tactile person.

By the way there used to be a reclaim Valentines Day event in Piccadilly Circus near the Ero Statue for the past four years where there was a mass hug event. This year it was only organised at the last minute as the main organisers dropped out so only a couple of dozen people turned up. But in previous years up to 600 turned up. Here is the site about it: http://www.o-i-l.net/

A hug always makes me feel better,i come from a big family and my mum was always big on hugging so its always been a natural reaction for me.Even as adults me my brothers and sisters always hug alot when we see eachother.Hugging is important to me and im glad it is to my boys to as they dont mind walking up and giving me a hug infront of thier friends which is nice.

I didn't always get the hugs i need when i was a kid, and for a while as an adult i had trouble accepting them.

Once i had my boy though, everything changed. I had no problem hugging him.
But then i realized how much i needed to be hugged too.

I do crave and miss that more than anything. I lurve big strong man hugs.
But if i haven't got a man, then i'll hug my female mates, which i do anyway.

Everyone needs a hug.

I only hug those who I am very close to. Think it weird when someone goes to hug you good bye and you barely know them. I think a hand shake is fine. LOL!

Hugs are great.

Pretty sure you learn from the first time you run to a parent after cutting your knee, falling over.

I love hugging my wife , kids, mum , sisters (even mother in law)
+ It's the closest contact I get with my wife

You can't go wrong with them really

Not hugged my boss though, ther has to be a line somewhere

They do that because they fancy you a lot! You have no sense of romance.

My parents when i was younger were never really cuddly people. Only if i hurt myself or was upset. Now though i hug everyone lol I have even converted my mum and i hug her every time i see her.

I can't however remember the last time either her or my dad told me they loved me!

Not everyone who hugs you goodbye fancies you Stonecastle haha but a hug is a sign of affection and it's always nice to receive one from someone you like, a little strange though to have someone you don't know very well reach out grab you to hug you, I don't like that myself.

Its quite normal in Spain for men to give each other a hug wether
its in the middle of the street or the local bar when you see a friend.
Nobody bats an eye lid and its quite normal behaviour...

Men here only hug each other when there football team scores a goal
but if you follow west ham thats not very often!!

Theres nothing like a good hug when you meet a friend you
havent seen for a long time...

Never used to hug in my teens and 20's... In fact, I had a "huggy" friend who made it her personal mission to hug me every time we parted company... I would try to leave quickly before she could hug me - never worked! :)

Now after moving to Texas and being here 10 years, I've learned it's the accepted form of greeting for everyone - sometimes even with people you've just met. I've learned to enjoy it and initiate it.

Still, the best hugs are those firm, full-body ones where you both hold on tight and relax into it... *warm fuzzies!*

Msg: 42. Actually this has just made me think about first meetings on dates, off here. What is an appropriate way to greet someone? So guess a peck on the cheek and pat on the back is normal, but my natural urge has been to stick out my hand for a shake.

You are romantic towards someone who you have got to know, not just anyone. I just find it weird.

With a user name like mine I gotta love hugs lol.

I received a mail from a member thanking me for greeting her at the recent Birmingham meet with a hug, she found it helped her to relax & destress some of her nerves.

Hugs are a MAJOR part of my life & I can never imagine me ever wanting to give them up. To those who think a handshake is ok as a meeting I personally find that very "businesslike" & impersonal &, whilst not offended, I wouldn't naturally warm to that person on the 1st meet.

Hugs dont mean I want to bed you, they are simply a friendly way of saying hi.
