| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 1/29/2007 3:11:13 PM | Well do you not like the perfume she wears?
Most women really want their own scent. Basically a perfume mixes with a woman's chemistry (pheromones) and may not smell the same on each woman.
The "notes" are there, but the chemistry can change it.
Some have an "essense of a fragrance, because they use lotions vs spray, or it could be another fragrance you're picking up like the shampoo or deodorant.
But I wouldn't take offense my husband or boyfriend telling me about a fragrance he liked, but can't you tell her you wanted to buy her some for valentine's day and you sampled some at the fragrance counter and the name was ______ ?
The opposite can sometimes happen as well. My husband asked me to no longer wear one fragrance after his mother passed away. She always wore it and it triggered memories of her, so no longer a turn on. That was reasonable I thought, so I gave it to my daughter. She wears it sometimes and it gives her pleasant thoughts of her grandmother. My husband knows I gave it to her and he never fails to want to hug his daughter when she's wearing it and he just holds on to her. I think that's okay.
But it was too icky to get in bed with...ya know?

I think the only thing you need to be careful of is a woman that wears a single perfume and might think you are suggesting the change because you don't like what she wears.
If you don't know her feelings, just ask her sometime if she likes to experiment with different scents or if she sticks to one that she likes. I personally stick to one perfume but if I did try different perfumes, it would not bother me a bit if you said that I noticed Jane's perfume today, it is X, and I thought you might like to try it, mind if I buy you a bottle?
Since I had my kids, there is only one perfume that does not seem to bother my allergies and the perfume that I wore for years before I had them makes me sneeze and feel like I am choking like all the rest, what's that about?

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 1/30/2007 5:33:28 AM | | Man the smells that get me going would have to be the Aqua Di Gio, Eternity, Cool Water, Drakar, and something from I think Perry Ellis its made in England. Man if a guy walks by me with Aqua di Gio on I want to jump him right then and there.LOL | |

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 1/30/2007 9:27:02 AM | Now I know why the pumpkin spice oils were sold out so fast at the body shop....lol!!!
I think it all depends on the man. Some will love vanilla, some love the berries, some love the heady perfumes and some just plain old natural. Now I love scents and I burn oils... guess I am going to have to make a note on whether he rips my clothes off as soon as he walks in and take note of that scent... hmmmmm... pondering... I'll let you know...lol

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 1/31/2007 5:56:00 PM | Patchouli is nice on a man, but subtle.
I find that colognes smell different on different men, so I've never really taken note of ones I really like - they may smell different on a different man. Besides, to me, what makes a man smell great is only part the cologne - it's the mix with the man himself that makes it perfect. Once, I came up behind a boyfriend at work, and he smelled SOOOOOO good...I asked him what he was wearing and he lifted his arm and said "Old Moss!" - turns out it was his speedstick flavour LOL. So even just deodorant can sometimes do it. :P
I am so affected by smells, a man with a beautiful (to me) face who smells great is just the most attractive thing ever.
I'm surprised that vanilla is so big with the guys! I've heard that apple is supposed to have an aphrodisiac effect on men, and fruits in general. Myself, my absolute favourite perfume is Tresor (Lancome)...but the last guy I dated was gaga over how I smelled (body and hair) - I was wearing French Connection UK, and had washed my hair in Peter Wellington. I'm almost out of FCUK, can't seem to find it anywhere now!

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 1/31/2007 8:21:29 PM | I enjoy the natural musky scent of a man ... god i missed that..

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/1/2007 11:14:41 AM | What about chocolate & raspberry. or orange & spice? I also love the scent of cedar.
I can't stand the heavy ;powdery scents that seem to be used in many public bathrooms.. They make it hard to breathe. A public bathroom shouldn't smell like perfume.
Also,, too many women seem to think that when it comes to perfume, more is always better. I don't really need to be soffocated by a cloud of your perfume after you leave the elevator. Any scent you wear should be used sparingly.I love vanilla, but even that can be a heavy & cloying scent is too much is used

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/1/2007 1:56:06 PM | I am really not sure what turns anyone else on, but I know that simply the smell of my man fresh from the shower drives me wild!! He likes any scent I wear - he is certainly driven by light perfume scents!!! So as far as any other weird or different aroma, I'd have to ask him 'cause I never noticed he is attracted to anything else!! | |

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/5/2007 10:32:38 AM | | Oh and a lil Pine Sol behind the ears and a dab of Pledge on my wrists....drives a man wild with desire, didn't ya know that ! | |
|
| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/9/2007 8:50:22 AM | The scent of Vanilla is very tantilizing to me.
Why do men wear cologne and women wear perfume? A persons scent is very powerful and can illicit strong feelings of desire and attraction.
|
| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/9/2007 11:40:25 AM | Aromas are also a very nice stimulant for many things....
aromas can cause different reactions for each particular smell...and yes each person reacts differently to those smells...
for me....my FAV scents are Vanilla, cinnamon, orange...to name a few...
each scent works differently with a persons body chemistry also....and will smell different on each individual...
the best scent for me and my body chemistry...is VANILLA...the comments dont stop when i wear it....
another for me is coconut and mandarin......which are my shampoos and body wash and lotion....i get many compliments on them...dont even need to wear 'perfume'
i love a good smelling man
hugs, silkie | |

| Tantalizing Aromas Posted: 2/9/2007 11:52:14 AM | The smell of vanilla and cinnamon really turn me on, I think it's the comforting scent that does it for me. I don't understand why so many people find lavender relaxing, I find the smell repulsive. It's always smelled like vomit to me...

*Agree with texas about the natural perfume!
