| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 8/13/2007 3:02:56 PM | | I gave match.com a try when I got this computer in January, but the flood of scammers turned me off real quick. I had 3 or 4 email exchanges that went nowhere fast. Zero dates. In frustration, I typed " matchdotcom sucks" into my browser window and discovered I wasn't alone. A couple testimonials recommended POF and I couldn't be more pleased ... as a POF member for a little over a month, I've met 3 ladies in person. Whew! I was starting to develop a complex over at match! | |

(I've been a member here under another user name, before you bust my hump for only being a member for a month or whatever ) so I wouldn't totally write off the pay sites.

Oh, forgot about Friendfinder! The forums were interesting but got really nasty and negative so I left (yes, nastier and more negative than POF!!).

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 8/29/2007 3:12:52 PM | | POF has the best to offer; I've been on Match and couple others in the past and blah! Okay, at best. Also, because the other sites are paying, they need members to remain paying members. I bring this up b/c on two sites, friends have pointed that, coincidently, when they (males) were about to stop their membership, suddenly they were hit on (emailed) by several very attractive femalels; so they renewed and wrote these attractive women only to get no response. I responded to several females off of Craig's list and the attractive ones who responded to me said if I wanted to talk, then to sign up on a paying site (they felt more comfortable supposedly). So, I responded to one from two different letters and got the same reply (cut and paste) to go to Singles dot net. Thus, it seems that several of the paying sites seem to employ bait and switch tactics, while POF doesn't need to, is free, and has the best features. | |
