| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 6:33:13 PM | | I have one on another site but have not even been to that site for awhile now. As soon as it runs out I am not going to bother with renewing it. I will not pay to join another site again. no I will not pay to join this one either. | |

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 6:40:16 PM | | Been there, done that! Tried so many, but no luck in any of them in finding that special someone so I do not pay anymore. The other dating sites, especially Datelux, are all infiltrated with scammers especially from Nigeria. The PoF site is genuine. I would certainly recommend it to anyone. Now if I can just find that elusive person. The search will go on until she is found. | |

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 6:41:42 PM | I am. Some days I feel like people are more serious...more discerning, maybe...on the pay sites. Some days not. Depends on the day, really.
I haven't been on another that has forums like POF, though. I agree that they can sometimes give us more insight into people's perosnality...but that only works for people that actually participate, and that's a small percentage of the people on the site.

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 6:53:24 PM | I have been to a handful of the pay sites. I swear half of them are a sham. I've paid for them in the past but now they're up to like 30 bucks a pop unless you sign up for 6 months at a time. And I'm not even sure all the people the show up in my search results are for real. One thing I got real sick of was how you have to pay before you can read your email or flirts or even see who is interested. Twice I paid to read my email only to find out it was from some fake person who spoke broken english. You would think for the price they charge they could weed that out. Oh and the matches, don't even get me started on that. I'd get emails telling me that someone was a perfect fit only to read their profile that says they only want to meet people with no kids or guys that are African American. I'm a white dude. And a dad. They make you feel like such a sucker. This site is the best. I tell everyone about it. Even people that I did meet on the other sites. Free rocks. You have nothing to lose. Email who ever, don't get a response no sweat. What are you out but the time. But I have met some cool people on here. Sorry for the length of my response to this. The people I talk to on here know I tend to do that...lol P.S. how can I get these other smileys in the regular emails? I know, want want want. | |

Posted: 1/29/2007 6:57:18 PM | I put my profile on four pay sites, But didn't pay to upgrade, Now I get messages on those sites from 19 to 35 year old Lady's, YEAH like they would really message a 66 year old man. Get real they say in the terms of use, That they can use your profile, Any bets that I received a message from the real person.

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 7:08:54 PM | Yes, I currently pay for another site, I'm only on POF for the singles events across the state.
Reason is, I haven't found the quality of women here as on the other site....
Seems that if you have to pay for a site (and there is only one worth paying for, it shall remain nameless), you have more invested in meeting people.
The parties are a different story, I have met so many good friends there, that I won't give up.
But as for dates....Nah......

Funny you said that because I knew members from Millionaire Match and they told me about Plenty of Fish. I signed up for POF with little expectations, and now I have an online boyfriend from England :-) He's coming in March. I hope he's the one for me :-) I need something to work out in my life.

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 7:27:33 PM | | Yes.....that was before I found out about PoF. I believe that if someone pays to join a dating site, they are more serious about finding that special person. I am new here so I may change my mind about that....Time will tell. I love reading the forums. | |

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 7:34:43 PM | No way. I have profiles on other sites, but half of them i can't do anything with because i have to pay to access it. AND I won't pay for dating sites...even if it guaranteed me a guy or my money back.
i know i've heard people have just as bad luck with those sites as any other site.. Heard some people are even stupid enough to pay for just booty calls. Not my cup of tea!
Figure taking a chance for free is better.

| Poll: Are you currently a paying member of another dating site? Posted: 1/29/2007 8:02:03 PM | No, but I will probably sign up with eHarmony when I am looking more seriously. People here seem to be more "looking for a good time" while people on eHarmony tend to be more marriage-minded.
(Funny how people assume you are looking to charge because you are taking a poll. Those crazy fools don't realize the whole point of the little google-ads. )
