Posted: 1/30/2007 5:58:42 AM | | I'm on Seniors Circle with a 3-month free membership. When it's no longer free, I'm dropping it. Most of the responses I got there are from out of state or out of US & bear no relation to what I say I'm looking for in my profile. Thank goodness I'm not paying for the service. One thing I esp. like about POF is that you can put distance limits in your profile. This means I only get emails from guys in my surrounding area in NC, instead of the UK or California. | |

Posted: 1/30/2007 6:14:20 AM | NO i am not on any paying site for they are ripoffs i have heard from the ones that do pay and been advised not to join,,now POF may be good for some and the best part is it is free,BUT I have not had any luck fishing in this pond ,,so i went to another MATCHDOCTOR.COM. ya;all it is free also and i wanted to say i met my someone on there and we have been talking now for a while and planning to meet in the spring and if the good lord willing neither one of us will me alone anymore,,thanks to the free site that we could contact each other without having to pay, SSSSS fishing does pay off in the long run     | |

Posted: 1/30/2007 6:25:27 AM | Yes I am but I haven't found any of them satisfactory, I am listed on quite a few sites where I don't pay also but might if someone interesting came along - there are a lot of scammers out there from Nigeria and you have to be very careful. I guess when you reach my age the selection is pretty slim anyway - I just learned about POF - This is a great site in that everything is free, but the selection is still not there, I guess location is the key | |

One of the guys I met from the bbwsite told me about this site-which ironically had better features of instant chat- that some of the PAID sites don't offer
I love the forums too 
re: people being more serious on a paid site-they're not
re: less married people using paid sites-might be a few less; but still many are married -
I encountered just as many "sex trolls" there as I have here and ironically there were more scammers on the paid sites than on here | |

... until I stumbled across POF

... I like POF ... it's different ... has some unique features.

... It's not perfect - IM feature rarely works - but HEY!! ... you can't beat the price.

Posted: 1/30/2007 7:24:50 AM | Yes, I am currently on Singles.net, Afrosingles.com, eharmony.com, and have been on others in the past. I met and dated men from the sites, but it never panned out in the end. Nice enough guys. But here, now, my goodness!! I've been on here a bit over a week and I am meeting so many men who are PERFECT for me, that it is now going to be super fun meeting and choosing one!!!
I cannot thank you enough for having the vision to do this for us. May the internet gods rain riches upon you for this!!!

A few years ago, tried eHarmony. Quite impressive and quite expensive.
Having some luck with this, no dates as yet but loving the forums. They have been mind expanding and entertaining if nothing else!

I did try a few others, before here, like singleparentsmeet, Babyboomers, Italianpeoplemeet, hotmatchup, Love Happens, & a few others, too.
Where I met some nice people, but also scammers & fakes, even lost money,
for believing & caring. Some people think it is their right to take advantage of your kindness.
Im glad a few of my local friends insisted I join PlentyOfFish . I have told others to join too.
I met many new friends here & some koooks too.
Some think they are slick with 3 different profiles,
pretending to be different people.
You figure it out sooner or later. Then you can play with them if you are bored.
But, I really enjoy the Forums,& chatting with people all over the continent.
Always something new to learn, each & everyday.

I went there due to the fact that I'm sick of my searches here containing 90% Canadians since I live close to the U.S./ Canada border. I love Canadians but not many want to date/cross the border. Also the women are more aggressive on the paysites which I like. | |

Personally, I think its disgusting how these agencies an make money from peoples misery.
I have never paid to use a dating site service, and i never would.
