I am going to give my opinion. I see nothing wrong with smoking pot. That being said. There is a time and a place for everything. Do not smoke before or while at work. That's just plain stupid. Do not smoke and drive. Stupid again. Wait till you have come down.
Be a responsible stoner.
Alcohol is a real problem. You get addicted to it. Yet people do not see anything wrong with drinking. Why is that? Oh, that's right, because alcohol is legal. I wonder how many of you out there have a beer while taking a lunch break at work?
We have all heard the stories of how alcohol changes people. A majority get loud, mean and belligerent. They beat their friends, beat their spouses, beat their kids and kick the dog. Just go to ANY bar or backyard BBQ where alcohol is served and you will see what I mean. That does not happen to a person that is stoned. Pot just makes you mellow.
I will admit that I do drink. I had a drinking problem and I guess you could say that I still do. Although I am a mellow drunk. Thank goodness.
You never really get over it. Some people handle it better than others. I no longer drink in excess. I have no beer or any alcohol at my house. I am strong enough to say "when".
Back to pot. It seems that the people that are so deadset against it have never been stoned. It is obvious. And yet they see nothing wrong with going to a bar and having a few drinks to relax.
POT IS NOT ADDICTIVE!! I do believe the ONLY drug that is not addictive.
I also will admit to smoking pot. Although it has been about 3 years since I was last stoned. My GF at the time was really scared of it showing up in her if she had a drug test. I did not just go outside and smoke out. I stopped for her. Yes, I stopped. Been about a year since we broke up. I still have not been stoned. Oh, I have NEVER done any other drug. Hard to believe huh? I mean, pot smokers ALWAYS move on to harder drugs. That's a load of crap.
Being a pot smoker does not mean you are a loser. Does not mean you take or do other drugs. Does not mean you can not hold a job. Does not mean you will not amount to anything in your life. | |

Posted: 6/3/2007 4:07:36 PM | Illegal does not mean immoral. If prohibition came into affect would you condemn people for drinking alcohol illegally. Some will (the unreasonable) but it's the same idea. Not all laws are based on morrality. The eleventh commandment is not "Thou shalt not spark a dubey".
I don't do drugs but I have nothing against pot smokers. I used to smoke pot in highschool but I found it was affecting my short term memory so I stopped and now I ahh , ummm, ..... what was I talking about again. Hmmm..???? | |

While I don't smoke very often, I occasionally will when I am on a night out or something. It really is equivalent to alcohol, and I know many many many people who smoke weed but do not do any other drugs. Alcohol actually affects me more than weed, and to me, it is more dangerous because it is easier to overdo the drinking.
I know it is illegal, but the only reason is that the government would have no way to control its production, and would therefore have no reliable way of making money off of it. Please people, I can't believe how much judging is going on without even knowing firsthand what you are talking about.
As for the question - there are many of us out there, but personally, I tend to not date guys who smoke daily. As I said before, it is like alcohol to me, and I prefer not to date people who need to feel the high on a daily basis - it is fun ocassionally for partying, but if you "need" it then it isnt really for me. Some people do react differently to it though, so it all depends I guess. | |

Don't know about Canada, but it's illegal in the states. Hardly worth getting busted, fined, a record and possible jail time, much less lose prospects for a job.
While its not totally legal its semi-legal. The worse you'll get up here for having about an ounce on you is a fine and it taken away, less then a 1/8th of an ounce they'll usually don't care. Just don't flaunt it, keep it in your house and don't drive stoned. Having an excessive qty of it however WILL get you jail time / fined etc.... If your somewhat responsible with it the police usually won't bother you. | |
