I was single and dating a man other than the father throughout my last pregnancy.
Obviously it didn't work out (lol), but at least I found out before my child was born and there were attachments formed between the man and my child.
If you don't want children, that is definitly your perogative.
However, if guy does want children, can put up with all of the "pregnancy hormones", and the relationship is working out, he would get to share in the experience of the pregnancy, and be a part of that child's life from the beginning.
If there were still unresolved issues with the baby's father though, or if the woman was looking for someone "to take care of her", I'd advise men to run. | |

Posted: 4/19/2005 6:30:56 AM | To clarify something I see as disturbing. Several people have intimated that it would take a "good man" to date a pregnant woman. That's a bit disturbing.. Bad men can date pregnant women just the same as a good man can choose not to date them. If you utilize any forsight at all as a man, you would realize the can of worms that is being opened when you date a pregnant woman. If you think you're up to the challenge, That's great. But a guy could just as easily go into it not giving a damn what added expectations there might be because he simply woon't perform them.
Give some credit to the guys who realize ahead of time that there is a lot more involved with dating a pregnant woman than dating a woman who is not. And for admitting that he is just not up to the challenge. It's better than getting involved with a guy who may then take off on you a week or so before your due date or even right after having the child. These guys may not be ready to have a child come into their life. | |

I agree. Pregnant women are attractive... not the women who let themselves go with the stringy hair and 2nd hand maternity clothes from goodwill. No. I like to see a pregnant woman who still wears spandex, sneakers and a ball cap while she's out shopping. I like to see that "glow" on a pregnant woman who still prides herself on her appearance, still wearing makeup and doing her hair. Just cuz ya have a little belly doesn't mean life is over for the next 9mos. You can still turn men on and feel sexy. | |

Posted: 7/26/2005 10:30:28 PM | | i broke up with my daughters ex when i was 4 months pregnant and had 5 guys ask me out in one week i didnt feel right dating when i was pregnant it was just wierd to me but i did meet a great guy that understood that and was there for my as a friend until shortly after she was born and we started dating i still had guys asking me out when i was 8 months along and was told that the fact i was pregnant didnt bother them and they actually found it atractive i think that if a person really cares about the woman than they should care enough to want to be around no matter what but not all people are capable to raise another mans child and its best for the guy to be honest the last thing a pregnant woman whos already had one guy leave is to have another do the same | |
