Energy transmission yes.. but spirits trapped on this plain.. no.
Once the body dies.. the spirit moves on. If it was still meant to be here, the body would have maintained itself and the spirit.
Energy is a tricky thing, and just because you see great aunt Martha, doesn't mean it is great aunt Martha. | |

Posted: 2/10/2007 9:30:21 AM | I actually contacted Vancouver Paranormal society with some photos I took of some "orbs" last year, they offered to come out for free to check it out but I haven't had the time to pursue it further.
Ever since I have moved in here after my divorce there has been a number of weird things, the warm hand on my back, the orbs, the TV "skipping" as if the person on tv was doing some rap song..lol. Christmas eve morning I got up and the light was on above the stove, I turn it out every night because I have a bird and that is his indication to go to bed so I know I didn't forget to turn it off. Christmas day morning I got up and the fan above the stove was on full blast. That is only a small amount of things that have happened and I have only been here for 2 and a half years.
The TV thing was funny...it's happened a few times where it has only skipped when I walked by it....the 3rd time I said outloud "ok..you are hilarious but you can stop now" and it stopped.
I debated whether to post this as people may think I'm a looney but I find it an interesting subject, you just never know.... let me tell you about my UFO story sometime, that one is hard to explain when there were 12 other people with you...hmmmm...the truth is out there! | |

I love being scared, I watch Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural all that stuff gets me totally going. I guess I'm an adrenaline junkie in a sense. I also read real ghost stories, they are always good for scarin' the sheeet out of me. I like to take my emotions for a little 'burn' once and a while to make sure they're still there as I am quite impartial most of the time (READ: not a drama queen)
And I have been enjoying this thread, love the stories!

I haven't experienced anything recently, but I have certainly had several experiences in the past ... mostly when I was in my teens. My best friend back then lived in a house that was definitely "occupied" by someone from the other side. This entity would do things around the house like opening and closing the curtains in the kitchen, plunking keys on the piano (right in front of my face!) and stomping up and down the upstairs hallway (when no one else was home and we were downstairs playing pool). This spirit would get obviously upset when my friend's family would go away on trips. One time, the night before a 3-week vacation that I went on with them, I stayed overnight there. I was awake all night listening to the angry stomping up and down the hall and the sound of the curtains in the kitchen being ripped open/closed. It was quite unnerving, to say the least. My friend's dad had passed away when she was a child and she and her mom always thought that the spirit was her dad. Her mom used to wake up in the night and find the shadow of a man standing next to her bed. When she turned on the light, he would disappear. They seemed to be comfortable with it ... but I always found it very unsettling ... like the feeling of being watched all the time.

Apparently it asked her where my Aunt was and then disappeared after she responded. Next morning there were no prints in the drive (Was a dirt drive). Don't know if it is true, but makes for an interesting story. | |

Posted: 2/15/2007 8:44:18 PM | I was house sitting for a friend whose house was built in 1888. This place was once a Hospital and a jailhouse at another. Apparently people were hung there.
I had set up a recording studio in the basement and was recording late one night when I was smacked in the back of the head. I was standing in the middle of a wide open room singing into a microphone when this occured. The force almost knocked the headphones off my head! Guess what... no one there.
I took the hint and shut everything down immediately! My friend and her family have experienced numerous things in that house. | |

Posted: 2/15/2007 9:30:01 PM | I do believe in ghost and had the fortunate experience having one live with me. I was looking another place to live just before I went to Italy, I decided to rent this suite from someone that I work with. I barely moved in and I was off on my trip. When I returned everything was normal, I was getting into the routine of a new apartment and getting enjoying the heatwave. It wasn't until later that fall that I started noticing weird things. My car keys were always missing, bedroom light would mysteriously be on and several occasions, my toilet bowl lid would be up and doors would be unlocked when I know I locked them. At first I just though nothing of it until one night I got spooked senseless. It was near christmas time at this point and I went to store to get some more christmas decorations for my christmas tree. No word of lie, it was around 8:30 at night and there was hardly any customers there. I went to the isle where all christmas ornaments, lights and stuff were. I was browsing the isles until i got to one near the back of the store where all these chrismas villages were on display. Some of them lit up and did really neat things. There was this one musical snowball one that I thought was beautiful. I totally considered buying but being on a budget, I had to walk away and think about it. So I walk further down the isle, and started looking at these life size Santa & Mrs Clauses, all of a sudden my musical snowman went off. Out of curiosity I started walking back to the where the musical snowman and I probably got maybe three steps into going back, when Mr & Mrs Claus decided they were going to add their musical talents as well. I just freaked and left the store. Later I chalked it up to my imagination and the next day at work I was telling my co'workers about it and one of the ladies I work with, she is a very spiritual lady, and told me that it was little boy ghost and was having fun at my expense because he thought since I hadn't noticed him, he could play jokes on me. This little boy ghost lived with me for awhile but went off downstairs to my landlords place. I don't live there anymore but that lady at work says he checks in from time to time.

Posted: 2/20/2007 11:52:18 PM | I completely believe in ghosts and spirits. I haven't actually seen one, but I have other family members who have. I've heard and felt the presence of something/someone that I swear was a ghost/spirt when I was around 10 yrs. old. I also feel the presence of my deceased grandpa and father now and again.
My sister used to live in a house in east Vancouver that used to be a heroin den back in the early 90s and then was completely renovated to be liveable in and rentable for that matter. There were 3 apartments, one on each floor and my sister & her friend lived on the main floor. She said their place was haunted, that the shelves on her bedroom wall would rattle and it sounded like banging against her wall. Her roommate said the same thing happened in her bedroom too. My sister's upstairs neighbour told her the house used to be a heroin den and a few people had died in the house before it was completely renovated. I totally believe her and was glad I never had to spend the night at her house. She said when the rattling & shaking in her room happened a second time she just said out loud to the spirits/ghosts that she wasn't afraid and wasn't there to hurt them so would they please just go away and leave her & her roommate alone. They never came back after that.
I believe there's life after death in that when we die our spirits move on, but where exactly is up to a higher being and perhaps fate.

Why tarnish the memory of what they mean to us and what they accomplished with superstitious nonesense like ghosts, which nobody REALLY believes in.
Sorry to be so sensitive but I've seen too many people sucked in and devestated by claims of others being able to "talk to the dead".

I think you've missed the point of this thread. We are not talking at all about going to psychics or any other reader and spending money to contact our deceased. These posts have been talking about the experiences of the other side wanting its presence known. With no money down!
I can understand people REALLY believing in "superstitious nonsense" - as you so eloquently put it - because of occurences that cannot be explained. Skeptics try to explain, but, often sound crazier than the people reporting.
Paying people to conjure up "experiences" is crazy - you're just asking to be devasted.
The real deal comes un-announced and un-expected. | |

I drive rig for a living and have don't for 18 years, in the second years of driving, i drove for a company that never gave enough time to get to where you needed to be. I was running hard and long one night and could hardly keep my eyes open,. I was with 4 other truck and they talked me into the town i was driving to. We were about 100 mile from my drop and i hit the brakes hard and when asked why, i said someone was on the highway and i think i hit them. I was told that there was on one there and i am seeing thinks. Since that first time ,when i know i need to stop but run a little longer, i see pple coming up out of the road and believe that they are pple that have dyed on that pease of road and are telling me in is time to stop and get some sleep. I have always pulled over after is starts to happen and have never fallen a sleep at the wheel.
You can call them what you want to, but i believe they are ghosts and are watching over me and the other driver on the road. | |
