Northern: I whole heartedly agree that Gilliland WAS a surprise and does look like a keeper. Anybody know where he came from?
Tony's win in the shootout?? Did Tony touch Harvick's car or was it the lack of air on his back wing or was Tony just use the air to cause lack of traction? I don't think he even touched him, myself. Opinions??
As for those JAP cars, they don't let any North American cars into their country .... therefore we should NOT let them race on North American soil. It started with the big three, and we should stay with the big three.

ahead of ourselves here. It's just the beginning and there's a lot of racing left to do. M&M's anyone?
On that note, I'm going to back Hamlin this year as well. Started watching him with
interest last year and liked his performance on and off the tracks. Mark my words....
He's gonna have a stellar year.

It was nice to see Yates cars take the front row. With Ricky Rudd back at Yates i hope that it will turn that program around and get back on it right foot.
Iam not happy with the toyotas in Nascar but only because of thier history in other forms of racing.In the past they throw so much money at it other people leave.They however do meet the rules of NASCAR the Camrys are bulit here.(Funny American car factories are closing cant afford American work force but foreign car makers can)

Posted: 2/14/2007 1:42:00 AM | WOW what a mixture we have here, clearly not too many want a certain driver to win. Certainly a good mix here, be very intereting to see the years out come. Some very good choices here: e.g.
Stewart, Johnson, Biffle, Dale Jr., Kenseth, Waltrip, Burton, Kane, Hamlin, Harvick, Gordon, Rudd and even a 'watch this guy' for Gilliland.
Now, I really can't wait for the seaon to get under way. Very interesting.

Love Denny Hamlin-Natural Driver, not this year though. not yet.
Juan Montoya-in another couple years. He's got to the learn how to handle a stock car and slow down, react differently than what's he's been racing in the past.
Harvick-Good, good opportunity. Incredibly skilled driver. Very Hungry.
Stewart-Hungry enough to nail it and enough experience to get it.
Jr. My boy-I don't know. They need to change up his cars set up. With the family business dilemma, I think it may just not be the right time. My thought: why would he WANT to give DEI a Cup series WIN if they're not going to play nice. I know he WANTS it. But doe she want it bad enough YET? If he switches to RCR or gets partial ownership of DEI, I can definitely see him coming on strong. REAL STRONG..Takin names & numbers as he passes them aggressive.
Sadler-I've followed him since 1999. From woods to M&M's to Dodge. Huge talent, not hungry enough though. Yet with his personal life going well and Ray on as his personal spotter, he may very well get back in the chase. Win it??? Maybe...Reflectively maybe. Yes, I just lust after big brunettes..lol..** Oh and Dave Gilliland sitting right next to him in 5th place today in the 38. too amusing..Too young. Great skills. Yates needs to work more with him and Parrot..In time though. Rookie seasons are always so much fun to watch.
Kenseth-Definitely has the ability. Will the races play out right for him though?
I'll not comment on the busch girls..or mw..Had my fill of them all.
To call up a winner for the Series though..ask me after I get back from Bristol in August. yeah..lol..
Either Tony Stewart or Matt Kenseth or Kevin Harvick(Nope not making up my mind yet-to hard with so much talent) as of Today. GREAT 500 today..The best I've seen in the last 15 years.

I would say he has a really strong chance to take this year's cup. Who would of thought he would win at Daytona in the last lap? I still can see the disbelief in my friends eyes as he over took Martin at the finish line...they were very silent (yes, I was rooting for Mark too).

Man is it going to be a close season, way too many diffeent and repeat winners. The chase for the 'cup' looks like it will go down to the wire. Enjoy the rest of the race season. If the start of the year is any indication, the rest of the year is going to be a nail bitter.
