If some of you have never heard of this man.. look him up and read his web site. This man writes fiction, but what is phenominal is that before his books are released, much of what he writes is prophetic and actually takes place in World Events! Makes you DEFINATELY go..... hmmmmm!!
Just finished *The Ezekiel Option* Whoaaaa!! Great book!!
Now I'm reading his book *The Copper Scroll* ... hard to put down!

Her debut The Cutting Room was an incredible read, so I'm hoping this one will hook me right in, and soon.

Have read it before, but I can't wait to visit this world once again - my toes are curling just thinking about it. ;) Intrigues, war, blood and monsters (both human and supernatural)...what's not to love?

At the bottom of this post is the URL one can use to access the entire book online. While written before World War Two, the gist of it is timeless and this book has spawned many great articles, with other ex-military personnel, for example, chiming in with their own experiences. Being a peace-maker I would recommend this to anyone who still thinks we fight "just" wars.

I am reading at the same the second time another book approaching the language topic: Metaphors we live by (by Lakoff and Johnson). It is a pity it is in English; it would be more entertaining to read the same things about one's own language since the examples do not open to me that easily since I do not "feel" English. (BTW, this last book is nice one when you start to think about e.g. media and the language it is using, making statements by choosing the metaphors to be used. E.g. He ran out of ideas (ideas are resources), He is rich in ideas (ideas are money) or That's an outdated idea (ideas are fashion)...

I'm told that his fiction is more readable than this one is. Even though I agree in principle with the ideas - this just seems preachy and pompous. Still, it's my self-administered minimum one book o' the month thingy so I can't just burn it or send it on its way via *bookcrossing.com* quite yet.

| What book are you reading right now? Posted: 12/21/2006 6:53:42 PM | Mapping the Deep - The Extraordinary Story of Ocean Science, by Robert Kunzig (ISBN 0-9535227-1-7)
One of the most accessible and entertaining science book I've ever read. The writer is clearly passsionate about his subject, conveying an infectious sense of wonder about things you may previously have considered insignificant. There are sections titled 'Greening the Ocean' and 'The Climate Switch', which contain profound suggestions for managing climate change and the greenhouse effect, as well as the dire consequences of ignoring them. Fascinating, scary at times, and surprisingly witty, there is hardly a bit of dry prose to be seen.
Can't recommend it enough!

It is open for many interpretations - too bad I needed to read an translation of an translation (not able to read original one in Turkish :( Poetical prose, nice style. The writer is Nobel awarded (though I am a bit suspicious with Nobel awards, Miss World titles, etc. since politics has some influence often :p )

Braun, Graham, some I've never heard of, etc. They're like a bag of bar-b-que potatoe chips and a glass of chocolate milk. You just can't put 'em down.

Needed to think about it for a while. Going through the entertaining Monkeewrench series by PJ Tracy. Quick fun read for a mystery. Finished "Monkeewrench" and "Live Bait", now starting "Dead Run".

I just can't stop a book once I've started it. Well a lie. I have once but that was "sooo" shocking I've erased the title from my memory. Some appalling fantasy fiction drawl from me teens.
Last good book. The Cold Six Thousand by James Ellroy (fantastic). His style is quirky but it really grew on me. Kind of reads like a screen play. I'm now going to hunt down LA Confidential and American Tabloid as I've heard lots about them but never read them.

His writing's so fluid and insightful that it leaves me eager to read the rest of the body of his work.

| What book are you reading right now? Posted: 12/30/2006 11:17:13 AM | "Scars of War, Wounds of Peace. The Israeli-Arab Tragedy" by Shlomo Ben-Ami
A suitable book to read for those who still believe the fairy tales about poor, mistreated Israel. And written by an Israeli – a professor and diplomat who was minister of foreign affairs 2000-2001. A trip to Israeli mentality, not forgetting the mistakes of its neighbours, neither. (Sounds fair to me) Just starting this but seems to be promissing.
