I have never met so many cheapskates in my life as I did last year...One even made me pay for my own drink...When did men stop being gentlemen and start being class A jerks and cheapskates? I have several men overseas bugging me for cyber-I say no, and the local men are no longer datable. So I am back online, talking to some men who seem nice or nice/good for me, and seeing where it goes...I am still open to relocating, just have to see what happens first... | |

In summary, he does have some good points, about using birth control and what not. What I can't figure out is the paranoia. But, whatever. I can't imagine any woman with any self respect allowing herself to be treated this way. Whatever happened to mutual respect and treating each other with dignity? My BF spoils me rotten, but I also spoil him. Basically, Tom Leykis is trying to help the poor guys out there who are never getting laid, because this is all it is about. Hit it and quit it. What a charming sentiment. | |

Seriously? According to some guys on this website, women can get it anytime we want and men have to beg. But Tom Leykis is saying it's the other way around.
As for the tabasco sauce in the condom...read the thread titled "I caught her inserting my used condom inside her"...that'll tell you where that paranoia might come from. | |

I think if a man is really worried about that happening, flushing a condom would be a better idea. Either that or only sleep with women who he knows well and wouldn't purposely try to get pregnant, but well, we all know that won't happen. | |

On the plus side, he does constantly tell his listeners not to date single mothers - nobody wants anyone who takes him seriously to date single moms because then the a***hole is messing with the mind of a woman who has kids depending on her. While some of it, such as wearing a condom is just common sense, much of that suggests an attitude that will guarantee you a very long and lonely life.
Rule 0 is that women only think they know what they want. Empirical proof of this is that far more women initiate divorces than men. | |

I grew up in the days when a man paid for the date. I have not gone to any expensive places, I hardly think Denny's or a mall food court qualify as The Ritz....And as for the forty dollar rule, I have never been to an expensive place on a date...So I don't think two or three dollars for an iced tea is too much. But after last year, I'm beginning to think I must have been dating all Mr. Leykis' s fans...Oh well, it is a new year, so maybe I've learned a lesson. Thrifty is one thing, but cheap is cheap, and there's a world of difference between the two....Generosity, which can be more than financial, goes a long way if you really care for someone. | |

Most women hate Leykis because what he says is so blatantly true. He analyzes women with clinical precision. I also have this feeling that while most women hate him, they admire him privately.
I also like him because he is an atheist. He does not have any dogmas, any superstitions and knows how to truly enjoy life. Most importantly, read between his lines. he is asking men to get more educated and not get into a quagmire at 20 with a wife and 4 kids where emancipation would cost vaginamony. Hence the prudent advice for using condoms.
A master observer, a natural sociologist and a speaker par excellence who makes for compelling listening, Tom's shows should be taped and spread worldwide. I believe that he should be the president of US someday. Needless to say, i am a huge fan of his. | |

i used to listen to his show all the time with a sister of mine, she loved it and thought it was funny, and did the flash friday thing, all the time.
still, while listening to the show, i could call bullshit on 95% of what tom leykis says.
all he does is teach men the art of being a bad lover.
it damages a man's ability to enjoy sex & love if he upholds the ideals that tom leykis sets forth. and it damages a woman's too.
it reduces sex and dating to the point where it's more like a filthy dirty war on flesh, rather than something tender, personal, unique, and beautiful.
he wants to minimize the art of mating to a science of hooking up a home theater system.
because that's the only way he'll ever have any chance of being good at it, lol
...in my humble opinion.
i can't think of anything more disgraceful than his attitude toward sex & dating.
it's like peer pressure for men over the airwaves- DISRESPECT WOMEN OR YOU AREN'T A MAN. you can't be cool if you get walked upon by women for respecting them.
sure it's true maybe you won't get a lot of luck or respect from women when you adore them and treat them right, because of their conditioning.
but just because our behaviors of mating rituals are dysfunctional in our society, doesn't mean to oblige the wanton manipulation of what is right and what is wrong-
or put simply, just because respecting woman might not work for "the game of getting laid" that's no reason to sell off your own self-worth and integrity just because everybody else seems to demand that. | |

I don't like some of his points, only because they encourage men to treat ALL women like crap, but how can anyone argue with most of his advice? He's right.
If people (both men and women) paid more attention to what they're doing, there would be a lot less single parents, kids who don't see one of their parents, kids from "broken homes", abuse, neglect, misuse of the court system, AIDS, herpes, etc.
He is simply telling men to think before they move too quickly with someone...not a bad bit of advice at all.

I think this is one of the cornerstones of Leykis' message.... that disgusting sense of entitlement that so many women have.
Until I ran into Leykis, I thought I was one of the few who had had such crappy experiences with women. He was able to articulate a lot of what I felt. I don't always agree with him and sometimes he's way over the top, but he is really blatantly honest and there is a lot of truth in his message.
No matter what you feel about the guy, you can't deny that he's entertaining.

which seems odd because even our modern high tech science doesn't have all the answers as to exactly how an embryo forms so perfectly the way it does

that's why i say, if you just become honest with your own self and your reproductive organs, and you try to be interested in the life-cycle

The view perpetrated by today's media is that men are the root of all evil. If you are a true man, you have to cowtow and behave like a trained German Shepard possessed by your female companion (eat when you have to eat, have sex only when you are told to have sex). Only then will people say, "hes such a sweet guy." And the reason for all divorces and breakups are inevitably due to the males. What Leykis does is shatter this myth with a wrecking ball.
Remember, his main population of scrutiny is the Western female. Say if he had applied his hypothesis to say oppressed women in say Talibanised Afghanistan, he would surely have been wrong. But when he says women are like this, he is talking about empowered and liberated Western women, who have the rule of the law behind them. With equality of gender comes great power. And along with it comes responsibility. What Leykis is asking his male listeners is to think before they take any action, use their head before their impulses. As he says, 30 seconds of orgasm is not worth 216 monthly payments. It is better to be sure rather than be sorry.
Tom Leykis often says that hes not a right wing wacko. I believe that he is actually a libertarian. Viewed from a libertarian viewpoint, his main 3 101's make a lot of sense.
1> "Never spend more than 40$ on a date". Remember this is by LA standards and hence that high. Makes immense sense.
2> Must get laid by 3rd date. Again, most men want to get laid. What Leykis is saying is that instead of wasting your time and investment on something which is not paying dividends, move on to greener pastures. Anything else would be tantamount to abnormal behavior as you are simply deluding yourself by thinking yourself as her friend and waiting while your basic instinct is still to get in her pants. Again this is a very libertarian thing. By moving away, you are not hurting anyone. You are simply exercising you own right to move away. You are not coercing someone, but just firmly backing your intentions and preferences.

He does not discount love. He simply says that what most young people construe as love is actually lust. This is so true. Why do so many marriages by 20 year olds break up?
Before 25, guys think with their diks and seldom with their heads. He is doing a big social service by imparting words of prudence to them. he also advocates self advancement and moving towards accomplishing your goals. Is that bad? Would anyone disagree that a single , no strings attached 20 year old male has a batter chance of getting thru college than a corresponding dad of 2 kids? Add to this the severance costs and the baggage and the trauma.
What he insists men is not to put up with impositions and self proclaimed superiority on the part of females. "Do this and ull have sex", "Marry me and ull get this", "Im warning you....if you dont give me this, ill kick your ass"; when these things come into the picture, the relationship arena makes a transition from sepia tinted rose garden to a battlefield. "Its a war out there", as he said to one female caller once. Even here, hes not asking you to fight. But just move away. Only cuckolded, henpecked and uxorious men will still continue. Anyone with self respect wont. There is nothing wrong in advocating this. If you ask to be put on a pedestal, behave like one. Otherwise fuk off.
Hes also exposed many subtle feminine games of manipulation, con and deceit with the prescience of a forecaster, precision of a surgeon and with perspicacious insight backed by first hand experience. Why do you think many 19 year old profiles say, "dont waste your time on me", while the same profiles at 30 become "tired of the games, are there any nice guys left who are ready to settle down?" Leykis says that do things like you want to do. If dating is a business, then behave like a shrewd businessman. Hence his advices for getting laid and stuff. Otherwise one suffers. That might sound clinical and unromantic, but then the modern world is quite merciless and spares none for mistakes, be it a male or a female. | |
