I spent some time voting a few months ago. It quickly became an exercise in understanding my own tastes. Other than that use I think the "feature" is pretty stupid. What was the motive for putting it on the site in the first place? Bruising the egos of your users isn't the best way to promote your web site. | |

If you have a blurry photo, if your photo is just of cleavage, if it's otherwise not a good representation I will give you a low rating. If you're not smiling you get a lower rater because you look less pleasant.
I also look at how attractive someone is to ME. If you're not my type, you get a low rating.
I don't usually rate women for just that reason. But you might just look like an airheaded jock, and even if you think you're God's gift to womankind I'd rate you low (not specific to OP). | |

Sadly some people have to carry it too far by attacking someone else to feel better about them selves, however; they don't feel better about themselves for very long. If a good looking girl attacks another good looking girls then truly she is the ugly one and has a lot of work to do on the inside where it really counts. Btw you're a 10.  | |

So, this question is more for the women, but it wont let me post in the ask a women section. I do the whole rate my picture thing. I have noticed that women who rate my profile rate me like a 1, or a 3. Now, I hate to sound like a snob, but I think I'm pretty good looking. No complaints. So why are chicks saying I'm a 3????
Katie, don't take it personally. When you open your pictures up for vote, you have to understand that many people vote different ways.
People most likely vote all sorts of ways including the following:
How you look physically
What impression they have of you in your pictures
Whether the picture was tasteful in their opinion
It may be safe to assume that anyone who gives you a really low vote is hating on you for some reason or really is repulsed by you for one of the above listed reasons.
Don't take it TOO personally. The voting feature is something I just considered to be fun and I hope you will too.
