| Why are older women not into younger guys???

Now, my 2 cents worth on this subject. I am an older woman. I have had a 25 yr old lover. He is amazing. I have been asked on a regular basis, by younger men on here to meet for a moment, a date, a whatever...and I have said yes. Not always. I will not go younger than 25. I hope. Seriously I have all the will power of a wet noodle. (that is not an invitation!). Anyways, my reasons/explanations....first I have had a rule (okay I broke but lets not quible), my rule has been;
'I will not be with anyone who was not a sparkle in their mommas eye the day I graduated highschool'. Now this included in chat/cyber as well.
My newest rule...
'If you are the right age to date my daughter....it just isn't going to work with me'. competeing with an 18 yr old is just wrong.
Now, having said that, I will tell you, there are alot of guys under 25 who are very mature for their age. For any age really. Here is the thing tho, my list of...things...
-As mature as you are, the world still views May-men/December-women as 'uncomfortable' or immoral. You might have the cojones to stare the opposition down but most older women have had strap their cojones on more times than they want to...we pick our battles now.
-No woman likes to hear..."oh is that your son?". (even if my response was a ballsy, hell no honey he's the man I have sex with)
-What if we fall in love? The chances that you will want to move on, find a wife and have children...highly probable, why raise the odds of a heartache.
-Life experience. Sadly there is no substitute for life experience. It tends to crop up at uncomfortable places.
-Generation gap....you cut your first tooth on a computer, I didn't see my first computer until grade 12. It had a black screen with orange writing. We were born in the age of ponchos and bell bottoms. You were born in the age of muffin tops and whale tales.
-My last one...as an overweight, older woman with an extremely high sex drive, and a pretty sturdy ego, I still have no wish to get all horny over one more guy who has to close his eyes or look away when he touches me...because in his mind he wants to be with a girl who has the body of someone his age but the imagination of someone my age. And while that scenario can happen with older guys too...the reality is that the odds are in the favor of it not happening with older men.
All that said and done...my advice to older women...you should give it a go  if the connection is really zinging...screw the world, the opinions and the fear of heartache. The best lover and the best connection I have ever had is/was with a man 16 yrs younger than me. 
To the young man in question, the young men....don't give up. Take no for an answer but don't give up on the rest of the older women. | |

Give up? Compete with the youth? Try to be better than a guy 15 years younger? Seems again all I read is amazing compliments for these young guys and nothing but praise, but is like hey we old guys are to be set out to the pasture.
And you women wonder why old guys do not bother to approach you...if you would give them one chance at least, maybe you would be surprised...ahh yes but then again the handful you women have given a chance, sets the precident for the rest of us. Just like the habdful of young stallions sets the precident for the young guys. How thoughtful and what a compliment it is. | |

Posted: 12/27/2006 5:10:51 AM | I love how people masquarade sex for a myraid of excuses of being with younger people. when (if rarely) i date a yonger woman.. I tell her point blank that relationship is out of the question. She knows exactly what the reality is.
Pure ego drives on older person with younger people.. and i have never met anyone with a decent reason for it... like i said in an earlier post... People a 2 different points in life, and will find eventually that these differences will doom them. Sure there is 1 in 500,000 that may last.. but i dont know too many people that are looking at a relationship where they will be changing adult diapers in 10 years.
Whats wrong with you people... why dont you say its because you think the sex is better, because you have younger person who isnt jaded, yet, you can train, and have misconception that they have endless energy.... no.... they just havent learned yet WHY you're not attracting a man your age. Because.. THERE IS A REASON. And its not the men...
Any woman I've seen talk about younger men have always been been keeping veiled that the real attraction and draw of sex... THANk GOD.. when i was 23, and dated a woman 14 yrs. my senior... she didnt feed me this diatribe of insecure garbage and head games. i know exactly what I was the her... and that is a bigger turn on that anything you could possibly imagine... and yes she still is a best friend of mine today... not a lover.
But oh I forgot... people like to associate everything sexual with sex in an attempt to justify the means... i get it... yea.. hmm riiiiight. | |

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know it was not entirely the sex for me... and I dated a lot of younger men..... it was more of the "person who isn't jaded" - the attitude... the negativity of some men (not saying there isn't negative women too - I just don't date them) who have been burned by their ex's etc.... who needs it? Most of us, regardless of age, have been through bad relationships, have been burned, etc. etc. etc..... but my experience has been that the younger men are less jaded, and are more open to trying again. It is not the age, it is the attitude..... age is just a number, as is income..... and I don't think I am really all that different than most women my age.

I like men about 10 years younger than myself. I am young at heart and can not deal with men that are my age very well. he is cute...
Starting with lying about your age is sure not going to be impressing to any man your age.
Good idea...date younger men so they may learn all about B.S. and that truly age is nothing but a number. | |

Hmmmmm..I don't know why but I find alot more younger guys today like us older women.
Are people that naive... I guess women dont watch porn.. The "M.I.L.F.' phenomenon is rampant... Go take a look.. make a search.. understand just what it is that makes you so suddenly popular. Variety is the spice of life...
At work guys are all about the older women now... and trust me ladies... it's not because of your eternal wisdom... i dont care what age you are... If you dont have TALENT, and you cant TALK your way ourt of a paperbag... I would gladly introduce you to someone whose views of age and beauty as something that worthy value.
All this crap about older men being jaded.... oh lord... dont go there.... there is a plethora of jaded women here... My one and only date from POF was with a woman who was out to 'get' her ex husband.... YIKES>>> | |

but a lot of younger guys have a lot to still learn,they do not how to treat a woman,they are not as romantic,attentive,and most of all they are not always ready to commit,they are still exploring.......
older guys have a wisdom and confidence that is just sexy : )
note i said a lot not all .........
there are older men that are immature and dont have a clue when it comes to women either : /

I think the issue is that mature women are into younger guys within a certain age bracket. There are lots of 30 somethings dating mid 20 something men. If you are looking for a 40 year old to date you, you are going to be rejected quite a lot because your age different is pretty vast (alas a "rule" us men never follow) and women may feel that they will become more your mama than your luver. | |

"NOT" being the operative word. What we jaded women are trying to say here is that we WILL date younger men, depending on their maturity. "AGE" has nothing to do with maturity. There are older men who have the mentality of a 20 year old and young men who are have the wisdom of someone much older...same goes for women.
It's too bad that the only woman you've dated on POF dated you because she was only out to "get" her exhusband, as you put it..which is my point exactly. All you've done was pick the wrong woman to date. That doesn't say that all women, young or old, on POF or in your home town are like that.
Stupidity and Immaturity comes in all ages and genders. It's not an "older" issue where some think Wisdom should be in tact...some people NEVER learn with age.

This says it perfect and yes like the saying goes? The truth hurts and people hate accepting or hearing the truth.
I even know guys in their 30's, who say "Oh look at that MILF" and she is 50.
But I am shocked women can't understand why younger guys contact them or hit on them. Really you cannot tell me you are that naive. There is no way a slew of women are that clued out. No way. Just a front to say "Wow I don't get it, why do they all like me" as it is a nice ego boost. Say you are 42 and it makes you feel attractive because you are thinking you are getting older. A young hot guy shows some sort of attraction to you and it feels good.
Let's think for a second and don't be saying "Oh you are jaded, you are jealous etc" just think of this for one second. If women of a certain age are showing interest in men of a certain age, do you not think THAT encourages them and entices them to show an interest in those women? Not about confidence, it is about knowing or at least what appears to be the age range of women who date men who are in their 20's.
I am sure that if a ton of women were into dating men say 38-42 and that was popular, you don't think guys that age would be interested in those women more often? Of course, because like women in their 30's and 40's dating men in their 20's, it gives the guy more of a good chance to actually date someone that much older.
And why does everyone sugarcoat it, when you know the younger guy is wanting to have the experienced sex with someone older. And ya right all these women say it is not a control thing? You have the control in the bedroom being the older woman and unlike a guy your age, where both of you like what you like, a young guy is into learning so again a nice ego boost of course.
Hey I could never in my life date a woman close to my mom's age, just like date a woman young enough to be my daughter. Ya sure some 50 something women look hot, some younger women in their 20's look hot but beyond that what is there? And the thing about guys who are older being all jaded. When did women never become jaded. Just like the set in their ways comment. It always seems the guys are always completely in the wrong here. makes me sick. Both men and women do become jaded as they get older from being burned. Men and women both become set in their ways as they get older. What the underlying reason for going younger I believe for the women is the feeling. A guy who has less experience in dating and sex.
Also the young guy/older girl thing is like in school, the boys become teacher's pets, they have the crushes on their teachers. The boy has the fantasies about his teacher.
Hey I am not against this young/older thing just ladies stop the bashing as your reasons.
I know what my problem is in dating, I am sure if you took a step back and thought about things, you would see the reason why men your age do not contact you or why you seem to not date men your age.

I just be dense but this statement seems to once again "praise" the young guys and put us old guys down.
I noticed that the examples women give are 99% of the time along the lines that the young guy is mature and the old guy is immature. Or the young guy is amazing in bed, the old guy is a dud in bed.
Sad and you wonder why men your age ladies steer clear these days? I sure steer clear more now when i find out a woman is close to my age. Unless of course she gives me the time of day. | |

Well there you have it guys. Another who insults ALL of us. But never say stuff that insults ALL women because when a man generalizes he is berated and wrong, when a woman does...well that is just the truth right? We are really that bad huh ladies? Terrible guys, terrible lovers, unsatisfactory in bed, are always the ones who screw up the relationships and never want to be told what to do? Thanks for the compliments, makes me feel like I got a chance....with the palm sisters maybe.

i'm only 28 - and i dont have children- so maybe it's different for me. i have been dating guys in their early 20's recently and i prefer it =)
i always dated older men. i've come to realize they're pretty set in their ways and not always willing to compromise. plus, some have kids or are too into their career.
so for me, it's younger all the way  | |
