It seems that racism has nothing to do with the race itself, but discrimination extends to national origin, too.
I lived for more than six years in Kansas City, which is considered in the US as the worst city for singles.
I am foreign born, educated, professional and white. However, I will never forget the narrow Midwest mindset when it comes to foreign born persons or people of different race.
I cannot say how many times I got hit online in my younger years of women in that area, enchanted by my skills, looks and lifestyle at the time, who ran away when talking on the phone and realizing that I bear an accent!
I have the hilarious situation when a woman actually invited me on a date, gave me her phone number by e-mail, I called her to set the date and she backed when she figured out that I am foreign born and wear an accent in Midwest...
I have even a sadder story happening to an Asian Indian friend of mine, educated, never married and a very distinguished man. What happened to him was very rude.
The man is young (around 25) and had hard time finding a suitable match in Kansas City. He is a computer programmer, which gave him a nice a nice perspective and high pay, working for Sprint at the time.
He just could not find any decent Asian Indian girl in the area, and no educated white woman would accept him, even though he was young and not that bad looking.
Finally, he lowered his bar and hooked up with a young white female, without college education, without a stable situation, living with her mom, never married and having a small child.
The first time he was introduced to his girlfriend's mom, that one had a very nasty reaction. She said in front of him, "You could not find in all Kansas City a white guy?"
That was very rude and inconsiderate, given the situation of the girl. Needless to say that the mom put high pressure on her daughter to end the relationship with that professional Asian Indian man, and she succeeded, since the girl depended on her with her housing and child care...
That was one of the main reasons that I moved out of Midwest. It took me many years just to be accepted there as foreign born, and even after six years living in that place everyone was asking me where I am from... | |

Many Canadians in this country can't find work in our own country but we allow people in to take our jobs. We pay forieners more in welfare than we do a Canadian pensioners who worked in Canada for 40 years. The federal government has a policy of discriminating against white men. Crime rates are soaring because we allow criminal from other countries in here without checking their backgrounds. Go look it up if you don't believe me. This is WRONG!!

You immediately bring up your heritage as if its a shortcoming she must pre-aprove of. skip the race card entirely and get to the core issues, things in common, similar interests, things you found interesting about the lady, ect.
this turns what appears as the lack of self confidence, into exactly the opposite.
if she proceeds to play the race card, then yeah, red flag her ass and move on early. at least you know it was her inhibitions holding her back in life. and you can move on with a clear head and heart. | |

If she where attracted to black men then she would either let you know or she would be interested in you in some way shape or form. Usually if you ask if a female is attracted to black guys or not because then you may setting yourself up for a negative response or she may think your on the site trolling for white chicks or that she thinks you may want to date her because she is white. Sometimes if a female never responds to your messages or blocks you then she simply may not be interested in you as a person and it is not because your black or that she doesn't date black guys. A lot of white women who exclusively date black men here on pof.com will usually have it listed in their profiles or that they will come out and tell you that they date black guys without you having to ask them at all. | |

It did hurt and what even hurted more is that he acts like he didn't remember anything he said and told people I play the race card fukkin idiot..lol He even had a "sell out brother" in the background when we talked on the phone saying how he hates black women. He thought that was funny, I almost caught a case but calmed down, no idiot is worth jail time. I know all white men aren't immature and stupid like that but thats why some black women are hesitant to date white men. They said God puts people in your life for a reason I guess he was there for me to practice some karate kicks on..lol | |

some black women are hesitant to date white men.
That's because some people are too involved in the race game. i.e. stereotypes.
If people didn't delve so deeply into these types of matters, they would not be hesitant because their minds would be free and not succumb to what they hear.
Example: White men who believe all stereotypes about black women most likely won't date them.
But, white men who know that these stereotypes are rubbish are more likely to be open.
Example 2: Black women who believe all white men have jungle fever are most likely not to date them.
But, black women who know this as rubbish are more likely to be open.
To sum it up: If you think too much into everything especially in race dating then you are more likely to be hesitant no matter what. | |

its not a preference if u expect someone to have some kind of qualifications just so a person can date u. i met a white guy who told me he would date blk women if they all looked like halle berry and the dark skin ones need to look lighter in complexion if they expect a white guy to even look at them. he said thats my qualification for a blk woman.
i had a mexican guy complained about me not wanting to date a mexican. i told him the reasons which i wont say on here then i got the whole oh ur so racist, ur so this and that. he had so much bad english i didnt wanna date him anyway. i love it when i get black guys who gimme the whole race card crap i just laugh at them. blk guys makin me feel guilty sayin i am a traitor to the race yet its ok for them to marry a white girl or any other woman lmao.
i had a blk guy tell me dating a white guy isnt everything i asked him then why do u always date white women? he said thats different i said its ur thing if u do date white women i like what i like and u like what u like. he said u seem to be ooh and aah over a white guy he isnt big like a brother which had me laughing even harder. i said if u dont like my preferences stop talkin to me, arguing with me isnt gonna change my mind it never does.
i get called a racist if i dont take the time to get know someone just cuz i dont have an interest in the person. i had so many guilt trips i lost count lmao. i date interracially period end of story i dont need a guilt trip.
basically, its nothin but a bunch of losers who obviously cant get a date dont have anything better 2 do with their time. one white girl i knew told a mexican guy that "i wouldnt date u cuz of the news talkin about illegal immigration, so i am not sure if u r legal or not but if ur ppl wasnt so damn scandulous with an attitude thinking this is mexico, id have more respect for u and probably would date u. u r making this country look even worse so i wouldnt date a mexican." thats how the girl put it, i was thinkin is that really a preference for dating? she basically believed stereotypes.

Posted: 11/8/2009 9:23:02 PM | Many year's ago I applied for a very good and secure and gold pensioned job with a large electricity generating government corporation that would have much very improved my standard of living.
It was one the very best places to work in my area....and I very much wanted/needed this job because back then I was still just starting out.
I went through a very lengthy interview and testing process and I was in contact with the hiring authority who told me I was very well qualified and was near the top of the scoring.
I waited and waited and finally I then inquired as to my status....
I was told they are very "sorry" but they had quota's to fill and that I had been "passed over."
I did not get that life altering job because of the colour of my skin!!!
I am a white male and it is legal to discriminate against me .....it is a sick feeling to be discriminated against....believe me! ......especially when it is quite possibly in favour of someone who is a recent immigrant to a country many generations of your family has contributed very much to.
White male's have become third class citizen's and it's only due to our ability that we are not even worse off.
Keep telling yourself that. Perhaps you just were totally inept for the job or had B.O.? Do you even KNOW what color the person that got the job was? Betcha they didn't say, "oh, no, sorry sir, we hired a negro instead, you know how it is..." did they?
For your information, it is NOT legal to discriminate against a white person or a person of ANY collor for that matter. The disclaimers I've read have never said: "we do not discriminate against religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference or skin color....(that is, of course, unless you're white. If you're white we'll totally discriminate against you because we hate the white man)."
Please! This is typical boo-hoo of a bigoted white guy. Its just as lame as anyone else of any color playing the race card when not proven that they were actually discriminated against due to their race/color.

Posted: 11/8/2009 9:44:00 PM | Don't worry about racist thoughts or comments. It's a free country, and we, as Americans, are free to say and think anything we want, whether or not it's a popular sentiment or you agree with it.
Where racism becomes wrong is if you are denied some sort of opportunity based on your race, for example, you are denied a job (or promotion), housing, equal pay (to people with comparable experience, education, certification, etc.), or something along those lines, or if some sort of act of violence or other crime is committed against you.
People in this country love a good fight. Political correctness has gotten out of control as to what we "can" say and what we "can't" say, which violates the spirit of free speech this country was founded upon. People are always trying to control what others say and think, which is probably the most un-American thing I can think of one person doing to another.
I lived in Thailand for a few years. They are a Buddhist country and very laid back. One thing I learned there that I carry with me to this day is that there are two types of people: Those worth listening to, and those NOT worth listening to.
If you don't like what someone has to say, walk away. There's actually no better way to shut someone up than that. If you fight with someone, he'll fight back. If people just start walking away, he has nothing to do but think about his words. | |

I think I'd give all of those "privileges" up to not have to compete with Affirmative Discrimination.

Posted: 11/10/2009 3:27:46 PM | | obviously a lot of whites voted for our president since blacks make up less than 13 percent of the US! when i lived in baton rouge several years ago (high school) , the history teacher asked students to talk about their family tree. it was so surprising to see white kids stand up to talk about a black grandmother (great-great or triple great) that they were told by parents not to tell that there was a black person in their blood line. i see first lady michelle has some white relatives who want to be acknowledge or invited to the White house. i'm sure if she was something other than the first lady they wouldnt be on Insider news trying to get an invite. | |
