Also they are very uncomfortable and they do get in the way. I will wear legginns or tights in the fall or winter but most of the time I go for bare legs because I always thought that was sexier. And having gone to a Catholic highschool when I was younger, I am used to the cold while wearing skirts so I can nix leg wear of any kind altogether. | |

It has to be a formal event and cold as crap before you get me in hose. I hate the things. They are itchy and constantly "crawl". Then again, I'm not one for dresses much either, lol....tomboy here I guess alota women nowdays are more comfortable with their skin, and don't feel the need to wear them. Just a guess. | |

Panty hose are 1 piece and have a panty with them. hose or thigh highs are held up by themselves or with a garter belt. MOst guys would say they think the hose or thigh highs are much sexier, because they can take them off one at a time.  | |

There are plenty of brands that nice and silky to the feel and the panty part is no more uncomfortable than a regular pair of underpants. Maybe you're buying the wrong size? Stocking are more fun in warmer weather, but not so much in the winter. I'm not a big fan of the "stay-up" kinds, though. I don't like the rubberized band at the top. Regular stockings with lacey tops and garters feel so much better. | |

I still wear pantyhose, but I make sure they are very sheer. You do get what you pay for and I do not mean purchasing them from the drugstore. They do complete the outfit. If I am wearing a formal outfit (long dress) I do not wear them, but make sure I spray them on.
What do you ladies do living in the cold climate? I know from being born and raised there (NYC) I could not survive walking to the subway and freezing my legs off. Maybe I am old fashion, but I see the younger generation of today with skirts just an inch off their rears with no stockings. I think that is gross. JMO | |

Posted: 1/28/2008 7:41:14 AM | Pantyhose (aka tights to us Brits) are uncomfortable, impossible to get the right size and shape (if the legs are long enough the top comes up to your armpit, very sexy) and an incumbrance to certain activities. Plus they look about as sexy as big knickers.
Thigh-highs (aka hold-ups) are comfortable enough to be worn all day, ecconomical (if you ladder one - both aren't ruined) and you can keep them on while you err.......... need access. Plus they look hot.
