But also love the old Western Swing---you know...The Hanks: Williams, Thompson, Snow. And then there is the foot stompin' Louisiana Zydeco! Still, give me the classic rock of the 70s and I turn into a different person!

I enjoy current pop and alternative as well, but one thing I can't stand is the radio stations around here!!!! 5 minutes of music, and 20 minutes of talk and commercials. That is why I am proud to have cable radio in my car.

| Let's see what type of music Texan's love....... Posted: 4/10/2007 9:22:05 PM | Gimme something with a little soul that doesn't get played to death on the radio stations and their whopping 20 song per day playlists
Damien Rice, Beth Hart, Ani Difranco, Bob Marley, Ethero, Portishead, Mono, Taicho Drums... I could go on for days on this.
But really anything that you can close your eyes to and ride the beats into someone else's inspiration and feel what they felt when they wrote the music.

| Let's see what type of music Texan's love....... Posted: 4/12/2007 1:59:32 PM | I live up in Toronto, Canada... I am hooked on the great music coming out of Texas! It's hard to get up here, but thanks to internet and XM radio I can enjoy the sounds of Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Lyle Lovett, Pat Green, and so many more! I've been to Gruene Hall a couple of times, as well as Billy Bobs and the Broken Spoke! I wonder if Texans sometimes think about how lucky they are to have all of this great music concentrated in their home state! I truely am envious! Oh, maybe I'll see y'all at the Americana Jam at Gruene Hall in May! Take care! | |

If you want to hear some great new stuff coming out locally tune into KHYI http://khyi.com/ on the net. They play a lot of great stuff that you won't hear, even on XM.

Not a fan of Flush me From the bathroom of your heart while cheating on my darlin with a train running over my motha's pickup truck country.
Funny how people who don't listen to county music assume that all country songs are this way. Are you trying to tell me head-banging suicidal music is better?
