I went throught the same exact thing as you did when I was 21. Only she slept with another dude and when she came back, she told me in a way that it crushed me so I couldn't communicate from my head to my heart properly. MAybe becuase that was my first love? Who knows. I know I went through the same exact thing. All I can tell is the truth and the truth is that don't try and replace her. GOing out and sleeping around didn't do it for me and don't just settle either for the next bird that gives you attention. To this day, I still think about her but am glad I am not with her and recognize that it took a while to let go, but I did. That doesn;t mean you have to erase the memory of her. The next few yrs are going to be the hardest. Even if you do find someone that loves you and your crazy about. Just don't leave school and keep a cool head on your shoulders. No fool like an old fool...lol...but this time my chin is held up high and I'll be ok..Life is so much better because i've had the opportunity to settle my feelings and let him know just how stupid he really is. I'm a great person, with a kind heart and so much to offer a "good man"...a man who deserves me and the life we may one day build..until that time, I'm quiet content living my own life enjoying my children and my gorgeous grandbaby..(with number 2 coming in December)..I have much to live for, much to be thankful for and much to look forward to....so you see, life does get better..best of luck to all my friends..and thanks for being there for me...GOD BLESS, TRACEY    | |

I have recently separated from my husband after 5 years. i felt so down like you but I have received great comfort from listening to a C.D. called healing with the angels.
I dont know what your thoughts on this kind of thing are, but I was in a bookstore one day feeling really low and I saw the C.D. on a shelf. I felt so bad that I thought I would give it a try. Mainly because I felt that I would never find anyone to love me. Every day I listened to that C.D. and every day I felt better.
Dont think I am trying to promote some C.D. or anything, i am not.
I dont know how it worked for me but it did.
Just remember that you deserve to be loved, are loving and you are love.
Let me know how you feel.
I feel much better now and I hope you do soon.

Posted: 8/16/2005 7:45:19 AM | Ok...well at least you know that the problem with this woman wasn't any fault of yours. IF she left u for another man that is her own stupidity. Life does go on..it takes time..lots of time, my advice is..and if you read above..I've been there, lol,...find a hobby..something you wanted to do but she didn't like or wouldn't alllow you to do and do it. My pageants was one outlet for me and reading..I also reconnected with my kids..which I've always been close to but, didn't really interact with alot anymore because they are grown or almost grown..and my granddaughter became my world...how lucky I am. Haven't started dating or anything but, ya know..the hurt is not as bad anymore....I will pray for u...God Bless U....  | |

Posted: 8/16/2005 8:01:58 AM | Ok,it's over and you're hurting.It's called life.You can wallow everyday forever if u choose or u can suck it up and say hey,new beginnings.
I see an attractive man ,educated,nice.What isn't attractive is seeing a sad look on your face.If u love your ex wish her well and then put her in your memory box.
Smile at people,say hi,sing happy songs,if u see her give her a big smile and wink.Life is what u make it.
So put on a happy face.You lost a romantic love,it you will have others..I hope in this life time of yours it will be the only loss u ever experience.No u can't fill her place but u can fill her space with a better love.

Posted: 8/16/2005 8:13:53 AM | Sorry, I didn't read all the replies to this, but as a therapist told me you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else. At first I didn't understand this concept, but as time goes on, it gets clearer. I guess thats where the time heals all wounds thing comes in.
I'm coming out of a 10 year marriage to a women who left me while I was at work one day. I loved her and had a real hard time with lonliness. I had no friends to fall back on, I lost 50 pounds in two months, and almost lost my job. The on thing that kept me going was I tried my damndest to get her back and she screwed that up, so atleast for me I had closure that I tried. Everyone goes thru this and gets over it, thats the other thing that got me thru it.
Don't rush into another relationship before you figure out why the previous one crashed. You may make the same mistake again.
I like the idea of a forum where people can go for someone to talk to, I guess we are doing that now...lol. At any point, hang in there, you'll move on eventually but it will hurt for awhile. | |
