| Girls into cars. Posted: 8/30/2007 11:12:50 PM | I know enough about cars that can generally tell what's wrong with them... and have the last laugh when a mechanic tries to hose me over a repair. When I was younger, I tinkered around with my dad, bro or a boyfriend but that was when cars were simple... carboreters, not fuel injection and didn't literally have a mind of their own (computer modules) Usually keep my mouth shut now... men seem too easily intimidated or threatened when a woman knows about "guy schtuff. That's okay, don't mind be pampered and taken care of in that regard. | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 9/3/2007 5:09:10 AM | | I'm a girly girl but i LOVE classic muscle. Love a well made/customized car. Or an original that has been restored/well maintained. shoot I just love cars! Dream is to get a classic and learn to work on it myself. | |
|
| Girls into cars. Posted: 9/6/2007 2:39:34 PM | | I've owned a few muscle cars in my time and I noticed that the younger generation really weren't into those as much as the Import cars. Heck even 4x4's have a better female following then old cars. | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 9/18/2007 1:19:15 AM | | drag racing...fun....street racing more fun.............but got me into a hell of a lot of trouble when i was younger:( | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 9/18/2007 2:22:28 AM | Eeegads...you have me waxing nostalgic!
1977-78, Cruisin' E street in San Berdo on Fri nights, then heading down to drag race on Riverside Ave. Then, back up to E, kicked out by the cops, then up to old Cajon Rd for more drags. Yes, back in the days when gas was only about .55 - .60 cents a gallon!

| Girls into cars. Posted: 9/18/2007 11:07:41 PM | | I love classic and muscle cars... in fact I just went to a huge show over the weekend (Route 66) Funny, but I have a difficult time getting someone to go.... most of the people I know just aren't interested. | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/4/2007 1:18:33 AM | I certainly do not consider myself a girlie girl by any means, nor am I a dike. But I can turn a wrench better than most men. I not only pit crew for a Top Fuel dragster and a Top Alcohol Funny Car, but I am also a driver. I love the smell of alcohol, nitro, race fuel and burning rubber. To me, there are few things better than building a 6500hp motor and having it go down the track without a problem. Although, the adrenaline rush I get on the staging line is definitely up there on the list of things I like best, I have to say leaving the lights and smoking the guy next to you is by far the winner. I love to win. I love it even more when the guy I am racing has been talking smack in the line, and I kick his butt down the track. I have always worked on my own cars. What I dont know, I ask someone that does. I have always asked about anything I didnt understand and never let anyone make me feel stupid for asking. I own an old classic and rare muscle car, completely restored with a big motor, an old classic import with a huge motor, a new sportscar and a big rig. I have been into racing and showing cars since high school and have always loved it. I rebuilt my first blown alcohol hydro boat motor with a PSI fuel system last year. Test run was radar'd at 143mph! On the water, it felt like it was about 250 mph. The Top Fueler is by far the most impressive and aggressive car I have ever worked on. But I really love the funny car. It runs in the low 6's @ over 200 mph and is one helluva ride. The only problem with knowing this much about cars is it is intimidating to most men. Add to it that I actually drive down the track and it becomes really hard to find a date. I love what I do and wouldnt have it any other way. Just wish more men were secure enough with their own masculinity to consider dating a girl who can do what I do and not feel threatened by it. Its not like I dont clean up well. I can go from greasy jeans and t-shirt to a dress with stockings and pumps in an hours time. You would never know that I was just doing a valve job or welding up a puke tank for a race car on 60 minutes earlier. I clean up real nice. I would love to see more women on the track and in the pits. We cut better lights, have no ego's, generally weigh a whole lot less than most men and usually look cuter than men when we are in our little firesuits. Its a sport I think women would excel at if they wanted to. | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/4/2007 12:03:04 PM | My instructor when I went for my NASA license was probably the most aggressive driver I ever saw, evil wench. My first race she tipped me into the wall twice.
Totally thrashed the side of my camaro, and she went zipping away in her miata I am rather certain laughing her bumm off.
There is nothing intimidating about a woman who drives, I personally think it is cool, at least when I get that goofy look when talking about race tracks you wouldn't be confused.
So the deal is, next time the car breaks you get to fix the bloody thing, at 6'4 with bad knees leaning over a hood for a couple hours sucks.

| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/5/2007 11:15:18 AM | My first car was a '77 Camaro (thanks to my mother) and my brother-in-law (whom was from the UP, Michigan) thought if a girl was going to own a car, she had to be able to work on it! He taught me how to change tire, change oil (which was a b**ch cause we had to jack it up it was so low), tune-ups, flush radiator and change the anti-freeze, check all the fluids, replace belts, etc. If anything major went wrong, he would work on it for me, but would always make me help him. I would put on coveralls along with him and crawl under or over the car to get the job done....
And I also have two older brothers that are very into cars. One still always keeps a muscle car in the garage. He had a 69' red corvette 427 that i loved to drive when I was young and now has a dodge viper V-10 that he only lets me drive if he is in it (jerk)!
At this time, I drive a POS because my last two cars have been stolen and I was tired of going out to get in my car and it not being there!! I love older american muscle cars!

| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/7/2007 11:04:35 PM | | Goodness, all this talk about girls who like cars makes me wonder if I can find one who is into domestics. Being in SoCal you find too many girls who are into imports. | |
|
| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/8/2007 12:10:48 AM | Imports are hugely popular with the new generation hot-rodders (known as "tuners") mainly because imports are inexpensive to obtain and likewise to modify. Because face it, American classic hot-rodding has mostly turned into an old man's hobby, with even non-matching number 60s and 70s muscle cars now commanding ridiculous prices.
Personally, I'm glad for the tuner culture, their pride and attitude, and all that goes with it. It's like a passing of the torch to a whole new generation of rebels.

Yeah... packing 450hp into a WRX street machine is pretty awesome.

| Girls into cars. Posted: 10/9/2007 1:01:11 AM | I wonder if girls are missing the CHROME as much as I am on cars.... and not the cheap plastic phony Sh!t they add to bumper trim... Seems most cars today are 80% plastic!
Just an opinion...but it seems the girls are becoming more and more plastic too! If they do not use it, abuse it, wear it, or implant it, then it's not enough or is it !??
I know we like to improve things... but ladies... Be original... I love you for it!!

| Girls into cars. Posted: 6/11/2012 1:35:09 PM | There are two different types of girls into cars.
1. A true gear head. Owns, has owned and is otherwise passionate about vehicles. Would be into it even if her man was not.
2. The type that knows all about fancy cars because that is a way to find the guys with money.
|
| Girls into cars. Posted: 6/11/2012 2:57:18 PM | @patrick,
Met many girls like the second type, a few of the first, they were pretty cool to hang with and I could even get them to help me with one of my old Alfas or Bmws.
The second type loved to drive around in my car, but would show the slightest interest in what it was or what year it was or what made the car so special.
Later on in life when I found a nice classic car to buy the first thing I did was get it running right, change all the fluids and do the brakes.. etc.. the last thing I did was paint it... that proved to be my demise since it seems like if it wasnt all shiny and polished the ladies didnt want anything to do with me.. oh well.. I still drove it and the gear head girls loved it:)

| Girls into cars. Posted: 6/11/2012 3:41:37 PM | hmm I'm not into cars... love my '03* F250* 7.3* 4x4* 4 door, he is grey, has a gooseneck ball in his bed and is named bubba lol My BF has truck envy. Now my tractor is to die for!... John Deere named Deerdra hahaha Sweet green thing with a box scraper, bucket, forks and blade.
I can turn a wrench, but I don't enjoy it, the knowledge has come in handy a few times :)

Despite not being into the second type I do manage to have some fun with them sometimes. When I find a number and name on the Maserati or Ducati and I have not seen let alone met the person who put it there, it often finds its way onto the biggest piece of junk in the lot or some big fat smelly guy's Harley.

HAHA, I love it. | |

| Girls into cars. Posted: 7/28/2012 12:34:03 PM | I love a lady who can spin a wrench or two. I think there are more females into the car scene nowdays than ever before. Its a good thing....the more enthusiasts, the better!! Someday, I'll finish my project car, a 1972 Ford Maverick with a full chromoly tube chassis, all aluminum big block Ford with twin turbo's running on alcohol. | |
