MORAL OF THE STORY:

Do NOT follow an angry, violent and PO'd pitcher into the clubhouse after he's already tried to kick your azz in the bullpen....

Idiot.

even though the cubs lost (yet again) today, it was worth every fan's money to see lou's ejection. thats what this team needs is a little spark to get heated up, i just hope that's in the cards for us.

My opinion is that Lou did that on purpose to get the attention off the players and onto himself....

Smart move cowboy....

all i know is that today the mvp for san diego wasn't russel branyon, it was that piece of shit umpire. go figure big z has a great day and these ***holes all of a sudden change the strike zone. big z threw a lot of strikes that he didnt get but the padres did, that shit ruins baseball.

The Cubs have already taken the first 2 games from the South Side because of Zambrano and Hill and Marshall will make it a clean sweep tomorrow. Soriano's on fire. He's had a leadoff homer in the first 2 games of this series. He has a leadoff hit or homer in 5 straight games. He is on a pace to hit 45 homers, 100 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases. Glad Ramirez is back. He homered on his first at bat since coming off the DL yesterday. DLEE is on pace to hit almost a 40o batting average. The pitching is starting to get better and the hitting is starting to get there. They are only 5 1/2 Games out behind the Brewers. They can get the division. I know its still early, but they need to get at least one more power hitter or another pitcher. I heard a rumor that Jr. wants to be traded to the Cubs. I hope that happens. He'll definitely help out Soriano. Listen to me carefully: They will win the division with Jr. in their lineup.

I don't care if the Cubs win another game all season. They swept the Sox this weekend and took 5 out of 6 games for the season!!!

dude i couldn't agree with you anymore, this weekend was perfect. have you heard about any possible trades the cubs plan to make? i've heard that the cubs were thinking of dealing jacque jones to the reds for ken griffey jr.

I read that as well, but I would think the Cubs would be better off with some pitching then another power hitter like Griffey. Of course they seem to be doing OK with a line up of power hitters so who knows.

So they took Barry Bonds out of tonight's game....

I'll be there tomorrow.... can they take him off the line-up all week til they make it back home?

I don't know enough about the rules to know if that's a possiblity.

What a shame.... I'd love to see him play just so he DOESN'T get his number.

Not being a poo... just don't like the allegations and I've got my own opinions about whether or not he's guilty....

the cubs get jason kendall. he of the .220 avg. 2 home runs and 20 some rbi's. and not to forget his 13+ million dollar contract. but before you cub fans give the deal the thumbs down, know that the pirates are STILL paying the guy 5 mil. of that contract.

let me tell you why i like the idea of the cubs acquiring jason kendall. ok the numbers dont lie, with the A's he was batting .226 with 2 homers and rbi's, not great numbers. but in his last 25 games he's hitting .297. that's the great thing about getting traded to the other league in the middle of the season, you can start all over. and not to mention careerwise he's a .298 hitter with 70 homers and 596 rbi's. i like those numbers and hopefully he can be a big help in the cubs run for the playoffs. oh hey flthy, what happened to the ND forum? it just all of a sudden got deleted.

needed to delete the nd forum to make room for another nascar thread. there are only 20 of them. i'm not hatin' i'm just sayin'. back to kendall, he is still a good defensive guy and he gets on base despite his average. but more importantly for the cubs, i think, is what he brings behind the plate. this guy is all about baseball. and not only that he is one of the nicest players i was ever around. he was the only player to have a luxury box at pnc park and he would let people he barely knew (like me) use it. there was never anyone in it so it was always available. his girlfriend lived in san diego and wasn't around too much. and when she was he didn't like her sitting by herself so it was often available even then.... i'm not dropping names understand, but i have a lot of stories about pittsburgh athletes. most of them are harmless little anecdotes. i even have one of the 72 cubs.

all i know is i cant wait to see him in the lineup tomorrow night. he should be a fun player to watch, its funny how you use to root against certain players and then they end up coming to your team.

Cubbie's have been playing some great ball this last month. The Brew Crew's lead is diminishing! A-Ram's a beast! I'll tell you what makes me believe that these Cubbie's are for real is that even when the young guy's (Fontenot, Theriot, etc.) are in there, they are producing. Lou is handling this team perfectly. If you don't produce, you sit.

Hell, even Jacque is heating up. Nothing is better than having your all-star 1st baseman serve his suspension, and still put up 6,7,8,9 run's a game. One day at a time.

Go Cub's!

You are on the money with that comment. The Cubs are heating up and the Brewers lead is almost gone and the Cubs will be in 1st place before the end of this month because Ramirez is getting hot, Soriano is getting hot, and even the young guys (Fontenot, Theriot) like u said, are really starting to produce some runs and when you just lost your All-Star Gold Glove winner from last year Derrek Lee due to a 5 game suspension, that means everybody has to step up and help out until Lee gets back and they have done really well without Lee. The pitching is starting to come around. Zambrano is on fire in the second half of the season, Lilly's getting better, Marquis's starting to come around, Mateo a good, young starter for this rotation; if this keeps going like it is right now, the division will be ours and WE WILL FINALLY BE WORLD CHAMPIONS FOR 2007.

You are right. Let's take it one game at a time. I am sorry about that sjm86, but I'm getting excited about the Cubs taking the division title.
