| I'm beer, she's champagne... social mismatch? Posted: 2/27/2007 8:19:24 AM | What activity does anyone do, where you couldn't drink beer, or champagne? It's all a matter of perception. It's not a social mismatch, it's an attitude mismatch.
I don't have to wear a tuxedo and sip champagne to enjoy listening to Bach, nor do I need to wear jeans and t-shirt and guzzle beer to listen to George Strait. If what you desire in life isn't honest, then it doesn't matter which side of the coin you're on.

Well, at least, I grew up one, as did my ancestors.
Guess it depends on what kind of beer, or type. Some are tasteless while others are strong and rich.
I'm very astute for a Stout!

I see by your pic you are a seafarer of sorts... that doesn't give the right to pirate ideas though.

Still, I hang out regularly with Beer drinkers and can easily socialize with champagne folks... I'm the best of all drinks! :) A GREAT MIXER!

Many times to me Champaign seems fake, high maintenance and to much work . I would rather be with the real down to earth people.
I would rather find snow white and treat her like a princess, then find queen Mary and try to live up to her expectations.

They would make good examples of champagne/beer stereotypes but I think they have alot in common. Bad manners and rude behavior are found everywhere and with abundance from East L.A. and Hollywood to Wall Street and Brooklyn.
The true dignity and nobility of a man or woman is not related to their socio-economic status. The strength and character of a man and the beauty and grace of a woman emmanates from a more profound place not indicative of the cut of their clothes or the make of their car. And if the clothes and the car and the clubs didn't match, but the nobility of their persons did, a man and a woman may not want to go bowling or to the opera just yet, but they might feel compelled to raise an honest family together.

From the responses so far you appear to be correct that severely mismatched couples are very rare. I find it interesting that most place themselves somewhere between the extremes which would seem to change the question a bit. How does the degree of difference of social status come into play in making a choice of a suitable partner? Do people prefer a perfect match in this area or can there be some variability?
Or is this a dumb question...? I don't even know how I feel about this one.
