| When did the title of B***h become a badge of honor? Posted: 6/20/2008 7:21:51 PM | I used to say I 'hated' certain words, but I have found that sometimes the more they are used the more desensitised we become to them, and they lose their power~ I no longer hate that word~it's descriptive, we need mroe words in the world! Not more ***'s (bleeps) sorry, I just had to say that~now I shall go read the thread~ | |

| When did the title of B***h become a badge of honor? Posted: 6/20/2008 8:31:27 PM | I stole this from a myspace sticker thingy. While I do not like being called anything, except in the heat of passion, if the following is the reason I am being called a b1tch, then perhaps I am.
Being a B1tch means I stand up for myself and my beliefs. I stand up for those I love. I speak my mind, think my own thoughts, or do things my way. I won't compromise what's in my heart. I live life MY way. I won't allow anyone to step on me. I refuse to tolerate injustice. It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be me. So, try to stomp on me, douse my inner flame, squash every ounce of beauty I hold within. You won't succeed. If that makes me a b1tch, so be it. I will embrace the title and be proud.

| When did the title of B***h become a badge of honor? Posted: 7/13/2008 5:12:16 PM | The only times in my life I have been called that name was when I would not give in and sell myself short.
I do not consider being called any name a badge of honor...but if someone is going to call me that just because they didnt get thier way, I cant be bothered at all.

| When did the title of B***h become a badge of honor? Posted: 7/13/2008 5:25:54 PM | I didn't read all the posts, so i appologize if this was already said.
I've seen answers to how the word can be used as a badge of honor, but no stabs at the proposed question of when. I think it happened when the movement for political correctness and less freedom of speech started gaining steam. Women who are called that word for exercising their freedom of speech can get a double effect by referring to themselves as a b##@$. The self labeling shows that they are proud to express their veiws while the use of a swear word adds in that statement of "Shove your censorship up your a%% f$$#-f$@#". One of my favorite comedians refers to herself as a b%$#@ all the time, she also says what she wants without caring how people feel about it or how many shows she gets banned from.
That said I hope it doens't go out of control once the word looses its use. B!234 right now is like N#&&* was back when Richord Pryer first started using it. It's still far too publically acceptable to use it to demean women.

| When did the title of B***h become a badge of honor? Posted: 7/13/2008 9:17:43 PM | | I was watching some Norwegian blondes playing ball once on a beach on TV and one of them actually told the announcer that her favorite sport in the whole world was b*tch volleyball. But I guess with her heavy accent, she could've been saying "beach" ..... I dunno, I was on the floor laughing too hard. What makes a woman the B word? She only has to be prettier, richer and more pampered than the girl who is doing the name-calling. Wherein the "real" b*tch is the one who has the jealousy problem with the little prom queen. | |
