Its not about being 'hard up' or not....
Sure could I just 'find' the real thing? Yep, could make a call or two and set something up...plenty of willing 'friends.' But, with cyber sex - my mind takes over...I can visualize...almost every aspect...and, beleive it or not, can actually cum without even touching myself if things get hot enough....
And the bonus? Its safe, I can sleep like a rock afterwards, have completely erotic dreams and wake up rested with a smile on my face. And I don't have to make coffee for anyone or lie in bed wishing someone would go home....
Would I prefer this all the time - heck no - but it keeps my imagination very active...and me pretty wet....
