I have to echo that statement and also say, I had a wonderful time interacting with lots of REAL folks in a casual way... no pressure, no big expectations, just a Nice Day! I'm kind of shy about meeting new people, and it's very difficult to go on Dates. And also it was nice meeting the Girls as well as the guys...I don't have much chance to just chill out with folks. Having dance music was a great big plus, because I love to dance...and I never get the chance to do that either. THANKS and I hope to see some of you again! | |

Posted: 5/26/2007 6:55:14 PM | Thanks Babs and Laura! The crowd was a nice size, not too overwhelming and small enough to get to meet everyone! Ihad a blast hosting it and am so glad that people mingled. I was really tickled to see people get up and dance! Of course that would have never happened if we did not have such a talented DJ! Even people in the Graduation party in the next pavilion were dancing!
My biggest thanks go out to Mike for his great work as DJ-ing! I can't thank you enough! You made the party special.
My next thanks go to my co-host Pat who very effectively handled the information chain! Pat was a big part of the success.
I want to thank Charlie for being the grillmeister, your handling of the coals was expertly accomplished.
Thanks to Babs, Stu and Chassey the early birds for the help in setting up, and thanks to Hunter and everyone that stayed to clean up. You guys were a Godsend.
Of couse a big thank you to everyone who brought food. No one walked away hungry, that's for sure. I was a little bit nervous yesterday that the food might not be enough, but you all pulled through.
Thank you all for coming and enjoying yourselves. I was happy to see the worry and work was all worth it.
Now, for those who attended, or would like to attend, some people mentioned having another picnic at the same park later in the summer or early fall. One person (Babs) suggested a costume Holloween Party, which I think would be fun. Any comments, critiques, or suggestions on those ideas are welcome. I would be happy to plan another event. Partay!!!! I will post photos as soon as I can figure out how. | |

Posted: 5/27/2007 9:40:45 AM | artsy........since you don't have the button you might have to make a new thread to upload the images. you can give it a title like v.f. park photos and kudos.
in the thread you can post you kudos as well after you upload photos from your digital camera.
click on upload images then upload one at a time. it can be time consuming so if you had a co host that would be able to help add pics to the thread it would be easier for you as well.
when posting kudos...you're telling everyone how great it was to meet them as well as people you didn't meet in person you can apologize to them as well for not having the opportunity of meeting them.
from what i've read so far it looks like you had a very successful day, a great turnout, and tons of fun as well.
i'm sorry that i wasn't able to attend but i'm happy to hear that you had a good time. | |
