| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/10/2007 3:03:47 PM | | I have been trying to make plans for camping on the lake for a while now. I may just have to get me a tent and pack up my motorcycle and make a weekend of it as well. It sounds like it would be a ton of fun and relaxation. I could offer rides on my bike for the ladies who want to go for a ride for a small price. LOL!! I really wouldn't mind just getting out and meeting new people for a change. | |

| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/10/2007 7:16:08 PM | | I don't swim in the lake here, the fish like to bite me *frowns*. Who knows why, but I swear, my mom and I can be standing right next to each other and they go after me and she says...what fish?? But if ya'll camp out, a bonfire, music, beer, and hotdogs and smores in the evening would be awesome. | |

Comal is veddy, veddy cold.
I may be able to round up some single guys.

| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/14/2007 8:27:20 PM | | Kinda hard to think of the river when there is snow all around, but it is almost 50F at the base of the mountain! Thinking of that river and all, I wonder how much interest there would be in a winter ski trip next season. I am sure not too many but then we would only need a few to make it happen. If anybody would be interested, please send me a message. | |

| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/15/2007 4:47:32 PM | Interesting news today regarding the rules at New Braunfels... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/031507dntexnewbraunfels.15465652.html NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - The New Braunfels City Council has relaxed a slate of new rules for tubers on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers.
The council voted Wednesday to allow tubers to carry up to a 16-quart cooler - big enough to hold 20 12-ounce cans.
The decision revises an ordinance adopted last month that limited tubers on the Comal to one six-pack-size cooler and those on the Guadalupe to a 12-pack-size cooler.
The council nixed a requirement that children under age 8 wear a life jacket, instead voting to recommend life jackets for young tubers and poor swimmers.
The council voted to allow tubes up to 5 feet in diameter, up from a proposed limit of 4 feet.
The council also relaxed an ordinance that would have limited Comal floaters to only one tube per person, instead allowing them to bring a second tube.
The city has been debating ways to improve safety on the rivers, but the latest rules proved divisive.

| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/15/2007 5:43:32 PM | This is direceted towards "Whysper": The fish must like the way you taste and not your mom. LOL! I have an idea that may work for you. If you sit still too long you are a target where if you are moving around they are less likely to nibble on your more personable ares. LOL! Another thing that works is cheese puffs. Drop a few of them in the water and the fish will go to them and eat them instead of you. It's a diversion tactic I learned at a local creek that is my favorite fun in the sun spot. Nothing more aggrevating than fish biting at you although they usually don't hurt but just startle and scare. | |

| New Braunfels River Party!!! 23-24 Posted: 3/17/2007 10:52:32 AM | Nate, the bigfish will not turn on your event thread until you put it in a format that reflects the way the other party Threads are setup. I would recommend creating a New Thread in the Party Threads section, follow the format that your other DFW parties are setup. then send him an email... once he sees it that way, I am pretty sure he will set it up for ya'.
You folks have some fun now, ya' hear!

How to Post Your Party Information on Plenty of Fish
To make your event successful you want people to know right off what your event is and where its located. You want your headline to pop out and stand out from the crowd. The best way to get people to open your topic is to give the basic details in the "Subject:" line of your thread.
Subject Line Example: Toronto - July 1st - 8:00pm - The Unicorn Pub
Important Thread Details
Date: Time of Event Start: Name of Venue: Address of Venue: City/Town
Any Directions that you'd like to give, or special other considerations.
Don't forget, if your header mentions a place but not the city, most people will not know exactly where it is. Its best to be specific.
You MAY choose to write in any color font for your event. You can make the font bold or enlarge it, etc. This applies to the body of the text ONLY and DOES NOT apply to the subject line. Altering the subject line font may result in your event being removed from the forums and your account being suspended. Additionally, using fancy fonts only applies to events being posted in the party forums. Posting in other color of fonts elsewhere may result in your account being suspended because it is a violation of general rules of Plentyoffish and event listings are the ONLY exception. ( Don't panic I owed ya one for helping me with mine )

What is the current state of planing for this event?
I'm interested in being there, though I don't see where it will be held.
I've read through the forum and I would say the current state of this thing is FUBAR.
Apparently no one wants to take any sort of control over it, they just want to throw out opinions.
What started as a simple camping trip on the Guadalupe has now morphed into some **stardized lake camping trip. I thought the original plan was perfect. Simple and uncomplicated.
Pick a campsite on the Guadalupe River...there are many to choose from. I would suggest you pick one north of the 1st crossing. Camp Huaco Springs, Rockin' R at the Chutes, or Mountain Breeze. I would steer clear of the Lazy L&L as the shore of the river there is pretty steep.
Pick a date. (which has been done I think)
And go.
This has become way too complicated. If you don't want to camp, look up a hotel for yourself. I've been to the river over 30 times. I know a lot, so if you have any questions ask me. I can't plan on going but I can make sure whoever does go knows what to expect and where to stay. If you start trying to go to the lake you're going to do a lot of sitting around on the shore. If you go to the river you'll get to float and drink and meet a lot of interesting people.
On a more sour note...don't bag on college kids. You opened this thing up to a public forum and to start saying you don't want to go somewhere because of the college crowd...well, a lot of people don't want to party and hang out with their grandparents either.
So...whoever wants to spearhead this thing...let me know and I can give you a wealth of information.
