Russ (http://www.bigdfun.com/) is hosting our joint YAP\BigDFun trip down the Guadalupe which I had noticed that POF was doing at the same time and place. So let's make it one big party! We've been doing this river trip for four years now so have a good system setup as it is not easy finding ppl at a campground. Russ gets there a day early and gets the best spot, reserves picnics tables, gets a fire pit and grill setup and gets everything organized so it is all very easy. We have 129 RSVPs for our group so far as of this post.
Here are some things to note:
1.) TUBING RULES ARE THE SAME AS LAST YEAR
The things that ppl have posted on here do not apply to the stretch of river we are on. So the same rules as last year still apply. The new rules only apply for the stretch of river that runs through New Braunfels city proper. So you can bring any size cooler and amount of alcohol. See our site for details
2.) MOUNTAIN BREEZE CAN BE HARD TO FIND
See our site for details which also includes exact mileages. Many ppl often miss the turn for river road and get lost. Especially at night.

3.) TUBING ONLY OR CAMPING JUST ONE NIGHT OR JUST HANGING OUT
If you camp for only one night you still have to pay $20. It is $20 to camp for the weekend at MB. If you show up in the morning or during the day to tube, you do not have to pay a camping fee. Just the tubing fee. However, if you come in the evening after tubing is done they will probably charge you $20 even if you just wanted to hang out and not camp. You can pay extra for a cabin if you like. But note that is nonrefundable in case horrible weather cancels the trip.
4.) STUFF TO BRING
See our site for things to bring. Note you want good river shoes and also no styrofoam coolers. Also bring earplugs if you have trouble sleeping. We tend to be fairly quiet for the size of our group in the late evening but others have been loud from time to time. No pets allowed at MB.
5.) HOW TO FIND THE GROUP
Russ has included a map on our site and details of how to find us at the campground. I'll talk to Russ about putting up a POF sign along with our YAP signs.

They have huge fields setup for overflow camping (which are never full on non holiday weekends) so they can accomodate tons of ppl and anyone can choose to go last minute or decide they don't want to go last minute. Much easier that way. I noticed some ppl were concerned about making reservations so thought I would point this out about MB.

Posted: 6/16/2007 6:32:39 PM | The river is back open and will be flowing between 500 & 600 cfs, which is a nice fast tubing rate. They did close it from Memorial Day weekend - this past week, to lower the lake level. Weather is showing highs in the mid 90's with lows around 70. 20% chance of rain all weekend, so we should be fine.
