| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/9/2007 12:34:31 AM | Sounds a good idea to me, as i will be a new member, so not many people would know me, yet ! also as we don't bring our Pc's with us lol, to look up who people are, from their profiles, also I am a little shy of introducing myself, so if I was wearing a badge with my name on, I'm sure someone would come up & start chatting to me & other alike. so i'd be up for wearing a badge.

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/9/2007 1:17:16 AM | The giving your badge to someone at the end of the night is a new one on me... but then so are attending meets.
I think it is a reasonable request to wear badges. Firstly it identifies who is part of the POF crowd and secondly it means people know who you are.
There are many people who bear a vague resemblence to their photos at best, as has been borne out by previous meet photos, often the Photo's of the members look nothing like the pictures on their profiles so the chances of recognising them without a label is unlikely.

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/9/2007 2:04:17 PM | *Cringes*...Soz...but I just can't do sticky labels!!!
My accent & grinning grid kind of gives me away even if I wanted to be incognito
I might wear a Lily in my burst mattress for next one!!!

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/9/2007 4:32:09 PM | ^^^^ jeeezz, wouldnt matter what name we put on that one ^^^^

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/10/2007 12:37:16 AM | Iv never plucked up the courage to attend a meet yet, but im pretty sure that i would be lost without name badges, im terrible with names at the best of times & im pretty sure that not everyone looks like their profile pictures so it would just leave me in a complete tizzy, without a name badge i expect i wouldnt speak to anyone in fear of not knowing / remembering who they actually are | |
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/10/2007 5:09:29 AM | I've just thought of another reason.
If you get too drunk and forget who you are, you can take your badge off and find out. Unless of course somebody's been really mean and stuck a label on you with somebody elses name on.
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 4:26:34 AM | Well i don't mind wearing a name badge at all. Even though most people will know who i am anyway. There's only one Missy H muwhahahahaha.
Although by the time the Cardiff meet is over, i'll need another Badge, Mrs Evan2
Actually i will need a badge, as i'm planning to go in fancy dress, so it will help, as i won't be recognisable to start with.

Exactly ^^^^^ LOL. | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 4:45:54 AM | | I shant be able to attend either meet, but I am sure the luscious and fantastic star of the forum, the fine young lady above me needs no badge, those wishing to meet her please form an unruly queue and try not to trample her to death in your eagerness, Mrs Evan2, god he is a lucky sod x x | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 5:04:35 AM | | We are thinking of decorating your fishy label at our bash to personalise it and also break the ice, you get your badge, got stick stuff on it and hey presto a talking point! | |
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 12:36:27 PM | i think they are good i dont mind wearing name badge but most of people who go to meeting know me anyway. have to say i do have specially name badge not these sticky labels lol.xx | |

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 12:51:24 PM | I think the name badges are a great idea - that's why I suggested to other hosts to use them
It is a quick easy way of identifying people on a meet night & a godsend with the pictures
Same with the balloons its a visual thing having a fish means people can spot you in a crowded pub too
Those that attend my meet night in Birmingham on a regular basis get upgraded
We have transparent name badges that can be pinned on and are reusable
So even if people change username it doesnt cost much to change the insert inside
Obviously hosts do not want to be paying loads out in badges as the cost is not reimbursed
The best option is typerwriter labels as label badges & low cost £1 for 200 easy to use
Those that say they don't want them always come back after a while having seen the advantages they bring

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 12:56:56 PM | Name badges are a great idea.
I just feel that in a room full of people, most with different identities to their real names, its very hard to know who they are without actually walking up to each individual and asking who they are lol.
Thats wasting so much drinking and partying time then lol.

And then you pop off to the toilet to spend a penny and when you come back everyone has swapped badges so you get to meet everyone all over again!!
vvv
To be honest everyone is issued with a badge & not many do swap them around on the night
Stop giving Stonecastle a false sense of security!!

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 2:58:44 PM | I can't see what the big deal is about wearing a name badge. I dont particularly want strange men staring at me knockers anyway (cuz that's where it's usually placed) Like someone said most people who go to the meets dont post on here anyway, and those who do post I'd recognise.
If I want to know who someone is then I'll go up to them and ask them their name
Can see where they'd be handy for the photos though

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/11/2007 4:22:45 PM | I think that name badges are a good idea for folks to get intouch after the event if they are too shy when they are there. Having said that, if someone is so shy are they going to send that email anyway?
I like everyone to have a badge at the Wakefield meets so I can count how many folk have turned up, is that too devious?
50 at the first one, and 45 at the second one by the way.

| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/12/2007 7:02:49 PM | [I dont see why a name badge will matter if you see the person and figure out who they are from looks.... unless you come up in a costume or something] i think it is because mot people look totally different to there pictures so they are hard to recognise | |
|
| Name Badges at POF Meets Posted: 3/12/2007 7:15:12 PM | here ya go... just close the gaps when you come to make the quote box for real... dont forget , it HAS to be the square brackets not the squirly ones in the upper case form of the square bracket.. if this works then woo hoo i been trying to find out how to do that for ever, if not help !!!
